The design team behind the Moto G5 Plus certainly took inspiration from Microsoft's Lumia 950 XL. Even the camera app is strikingly similar.

Okay, this review from the Indian subcontinent is too harsh. First of all the Moto G5 Plus offers flagship camera specs for a mid-range smartphone, the camera settings options are great and the image quality is very good too (as viewers can see & as you yourself have said).
Then why does the last line say "Overall, a satisfactory performance....". That is a very good performance especially from a mid-range and definitely not just "satisfactory". Infact, even many flagships of today don't have Dual Pixel autofocus and f/1.7 aperture.

Yes overlay is subjective. Someone may like theme engine and customisability of miui and some fluidity and simplicity of stock.
You clearly haven't held a note 4 have you?
Camera is better on Moto. Need to repeat this?

Are you kidding or something? Motorolas are one of the best built phones out there. And the camera is better. I should stop here really.
But for sure, go for the Ximi phones, they give better specs in same or lower price, in the end specs all that matters on a mobile phone for sure.

Unfortunately all Lenovo attempts to keep Moto brand alive look disappointing. Even if they offer top-notch hardware and lightning-fast updates, sorry for being pathetic, but the soul of Motorola seems to be lost and sold. Motorola phones have always feeled and looked different and have been maybe more on emotional rather than hi-tech side, but that was the point. In terms of design and materials, none of the upcoming G's, E's, C's etc. can offer anything unique or emotion evoking, imho. X series with Moto Maker looked really fresh, body curves and ergonomics, material selection looked like nothing on the market. It's a pity that Lenovo killed the X's along with G's in terms of well-crafted design, while well known brands keep exploiting same design ideas for years and years without major changes.

4 only advantage Moto now has over the other brands is stock Android and best camera in this budget nothing else. OS ovelay is subjective. Only other pro is camera

I bought Moto G5 Plus yesterday......and I told you this is an amazing smartphone. All is perfect but one thing i found disappointed in this phone is..the quick charge is not charging phone as Motorola said..Long time taking to charge.
