Maybe the number ... moreI'm sure there is a lag built in for taking a picture with the edge sense function of the phone to allow you to sturdy your hand after doing so. It's weird if that lag was still built in even if you are using the touchscreen to capture. I wonder if that is something that can be changed in the settings? Or with an update. It seems weird that a lag would be required for all camera uses...
Is it True that the HTC U11 has a Noticeable Lag compared to the Samsung S8? Maybe the number of photos it takes for HDR may be the issue.
It's interesting that HTC has moved to a smaller Pixel size to include faster readout and much faster autofocus. Also it has tried to copy the Samsung Camera specifications to a T. It's almost like it realised that it doesn't get better than this.
Anonymous, 25 May 2017HTC U11 camera may be better than the S8+'s one by a hair margin but the overal design of U11 ... moregs 8 motherboard is designed for 8995 but sd 835 will perform better on some phones ... just like last generation.
Arccosinus, 24 May 2017They weren't quite there. The closest competitors were lg V20, lg g6.i said at least, but i never liked samsung in low light ... to much loose of detail in exchange for lower noise. yellow and green colors almost unaccurate in every samsung gs7 low light photo. and ... lg g6 and lg v20 are both way newer
having 90% score because of the improve camera does not mean its way better compared to whole aspects of s8+...
both are great. Samsung is a tiny bit good but certainly not enough to give it a definitive win. HTC has definitely improved its game. If you are choosing between two then it should not come down to the camera quality as both are more than great.

Ramkumar, 26 May 2017HTC algorithms are not good in battery life. Atleast they should provide 3500mah battery. 30... moreI can vouch for current phone U11 battery life.
About 14 hours of use and 4/5 hours screen on time. Before needing charge at 15/20%
Battery life is good.
If the phone wasn't so ugly, I'd probably consider one. I own M7~10. They seem to get uglier by the generation.
HTC algorithms are not good in battery life. Atleast they should provide 3500mah battery. 3000mah not enough. Camera is best in class.
Still not gonna buy flagship phones until they can record 4K @60FPS.
Anonymous, 26 May 2017I can't believe there are actually people here enjoying the HTC phone. It is a horrible phone ... moreExcept lack of 3.5 mm jack what's horrible about it? Don't say design since it's subjective
Anonymous, 26 May 2017I can't believe there are actually people here enjoying the HTC phone. It is a horrible phone ... moreHow can you even comment on the phone without even using it? Which part of it is horrible? It has the best audio (headphones or not), has the best camera score and a sleek design with an innovative feature.

I can't believe there are actually people here enjoying the HTC phone. It is a horrible phone with a decent camera.
One of the things I tend to look at nowadays is supported LTE bands of the phone. If you are a traveler like me and frequently visit the US/Canada and parts of central/south America, you might want a phone that supports more LTE bands so that you don't have to use 3G which is often slow/congested nowadays.
The HTC U11 already supports some US LTE bands but some important bands (like band 2) are not included. The last HTC didn't support any US bands at all so it was pretty crappy having to use it in the US with only 3G available!
Now, the S8 seems to have support for less bands than the S7, according to your own specs sheets. So I'm wondering what's right and what isn't.
