And mirrorless cameras can be had for dirt cheap these days. It's silly to give +$400 for a phone just for the camera (because really in anything else Mi6 is better). You could simply just buy a great camera with that money that will have 10 times the quality.

Samsung did it with S7 and S7 edge (5.1 and 5.5 inch) and Huawei with P and P plus and I am glad they did (they had the Note and the Mate respectively for even bigger screen). Exception it is but still most of the others can't do this easily (Samsung and Huawei are giants).

I didn't buy op3 cause it was too big for me. I am happy that there are a few companies that produce flagship-style phones with smaller screens. So myself and others like me are the target group. I understand the struggle for those wanting 5.5 inch phones but I think no company can produce flagships for both 5-5.2 inch and 5.5 inch screen sizes... However consider that most of the companies (at least until 2016 where the bezel-less hype was absent) produced 5.5 inch phones and nothing smaller. It is an irony you guys coming here complaining of a phone not being 5.5 inch when everything else are...what about us? Yeah some ppl in this world can't use 5.5 inch-with bezels-footprint phones with one hand...If they scrap the bezels out i can talk about a 5.5-inch phone...but then and only then

IMO it's one of the hardest. It's simply too tall to reach both the notification and the navigation bar without constantly adjusting your grip (which is also dangerous for falls, etc). IMO no screen should ever be that tall it breaks ergonomy. To make matters worse having to reach leads to accidental touches.
I agree though that 5.5 inch is a better side , but it can only be done by almost completely eliminating bezels, using a sensible aspect ratio (not too tall!) and some well working palm rejection software.
A 5.5 incher can be as small as 130x65mm (which is great for one handed use) but the tech is not here yet. Lacking that Xiaomi's Mi6 is the most ergonomic design this year around. Yes the screen is small in this info heavy era but we still don't have many better options...

lacks character in design. this phone looks more samsungish.. did xioami outsourced their manufacturing to samsung?

By far the best bang for buck phone if you are European.
OP5 will probably change that, depending on whether they'd use low battery again ...

The four main things are battery, camera, autonomy, performance (I would add looks but that is very subjective).
In 3 out of 4 Mi 6 shines through and even in camera it's great.
The idea that it will fail because you can't think of having the 3.5 mm adapter connected to your headphones at all times ... Is weird at best.
If something has such an easy solution is not actually a problem.
Also ~3400 battery for that screen size is one of the best in the market. Possibly *the* best after Xiaomi's very redmi series...

in EU that means more like +700 euro with import taxes and VAT. Naah, IMHO a Honor 8 (the old non pro model) or an Oneplus 3T still looks better value for money to me.
I just can't justify spending over 500 euro on a phone anymore. Various incomes taxes in Europe are killing budgets way to fast for regular people. The last time I spend (slightly) about 500 euro on a phone was with the Nokia 808pureview. The Galaxy S5 that I bought later was heavily discounted when I bought it as the S6 was at that time released.
And recently I bought the Honor 8 for less than 400 euro. I predict that my future spending on phones will unfortunately be less than 400 euro :-(
Good times are over over here. :-(
Pity they ditched the 3.5mm jack as I (and many others) need it to connect the phone to my car's stereo. And, NO, bluetooth is NO option quality-wise and for convenience. The USB-C to audio plug is nice but useless if you use your phone, hooked up to the car's stereo, as combined satnav-device/MP3-player, particularly for onger trips.
The FHD-resolution is perfect for the size. Especially since LCD's have a standard RGB-matrix and are, thus, sharper then their AMOled nephews.
In fact it almost ticked all the bells that I'd want. Perhaps GSMArena can put the LTE-bands in the article too or at least tell us in which region the reviewed phones are usable. As the previous Mi5 was useless EU with regards to 4G.
