- no micro SD
- no high res display
- no IP rating
- no stereo speakers
- no large battery
- bezels huge as yeti eyebrows
- uninspired design
- price is not in line with earlier models.
- no good customer care (yet that I know of)
I had the OP1 and currently using OP2, will wait for Note8. disappointed.
Review came soo fast... It's an iPhone with an Android OS. Considering the increased price point, OnePlus should have made the 5 waterproof and made the screen QHD or atleast brighter. Expected a lot more from camera. But still i can expect 5 to be a success all because of SD835, which is exactly the reason to buy OP5 instead of S7, G6 which are priced similarly. Apart from the said chipset, there is nothing to justify 5 over S7...
Don't trust their benchmarks...
SohailSays, 20 Jun 2017Lmao GSMArena, you guys were so quick to review iPlus 5! Because they already have it, they just allow to release the review after the event. still love the Mr. Peach Shirt Guy.
This phone doesn't have that much upgrade to be called oneplus 5 instead it should be oneplus 4.
What sad, without OIS I see it limited to record been pasive, not following a runner, playing action activities. Don't look at the swimming pool too, is forbidden too.
Gokai Pink, 20 Jun 2017Don't mind the design, mind the phone performance :PMost people say pixel is smother but definitely 3t was faster. We came to the point where processing power doesn't mean making it faster but improving the experience. Still you utilities shear power in powerful tasks.
In a few ways this looks like a step backwards.
No sapphire camera lens
Their presentation was laughable, as it turns out. They spent so much time talking about the pretty damn average for this price camera and threw a couple of bones to the "user ideas" that they implemented - dual mode network and quieter vibration (my guess is that they hit those marks accidently and did a post hoc) - while not mentioning the things USERS ACTUALLY ASKED FOR LIKE DECENT IP RATING A GOOD CAMERA (FORGET THE TWO SENSORS AND BUY ONE GOOD ONE) SDCARD HIGHER RESOLUTION SCREEN AND BETTER BATTERY LIFE..... WHO THE HELL ASKED FOR A THINNER PHONE?!!!!!!
A complete rip off of the iPhone 7 but it looks way better than the iPhone 7.
Thumbs up to GSMA for a fast review just a couple of hours past when this beast was released.
I think after releasing iPhone 7s and 8 we will be seeing 7 plus for at 700$ or below . It has water resistance , stereo speakers, and seriously guys that apple logo now looks way more classier and original than that + thing.
My 2 and half year old MotoX2 has water resistance.
i was looking forward to buy this phone, but very concerned about not having ingress protection.
also the design dint completely inspire me.
Oneplus 5 is just one thing, Camera.
Guess review units were distributed well in advance to reviewers but they were still not allowed to "officially" disclose the specs, just a few hours ago even gsma posted a "rumour roundup" of OP5 before, who knows with an OP5 in hand :P
Oh my the quickies review evah! I mean like they just post the live event for its release and now this, wow to fast GSMArena
By the way I'm in love, not with the phone but with the guy in peach colored shirt, may I know his name? please I mean please, please?. He is so damn HOT (sorry for the language), I mean Mr. Peach Shirt Guy, I'm your number one Fan. with that phone camera and those facial expressions wow, oh my...
Love the phone, Love him more.
I feel like GSMArena pranked us. They had it but weren't allowed to tell us, but now that they release the review at the same time as the presentation, it's obvious that they had it for testing before.
Jesus Christ... Seriously designers in 2017 dont have brain to make something new and original? There is no technical limitations of what you can do, there are so many ways to make that damn back more pleasing for eye... and still no one have balls to make something new...
Back in iPhone-Galaxy S war there where actually NO similarities to each phone. Look at devices from 2009-2012. Look how Sony had his own style with Xperias, how LG and other companies tried experimenting with design to make their devices unique.
And now? They copy each other like every company take design from one guy that is locked in some basement with only A4 paper and pencil, and he draw one design, over, and over, and over, and over again, and again and again...
