Nokia may had a good move in its marketing schemes, but in my opinion, Nokia should had focused on producing flagship phones only just like what OnePlus and Apple are doing.
Even this generations budget phones manage 1080p video, not sure what they was trying to achieve by using such a mediocre soc, they're gonna lose money on this as for the price point you can get better
Nokia in the past was the best mobile phone manufacturer in the world.
After not having adapted to the new times and being absorbed by Microsoft, that has finished destroying it, tries to return again to the market with the name only of Nokia, because its phones offer nothing new: They are simply copies of marks like Meizu, Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi, etc. But also poorly manufactured and with very poor performance.
Also, poor stock and distribution as they are late to the market.
It is a real disappointment, something I already imagined and this Nokia 3 is the best evidence.
Nothing has to do neither Nokia 5, nor 6 nor 9.
I repeat: This is NOT the Nokia I knew, it is an Asian product of low cost and EVIL MADE.
And to launch such phones, it's better not to go out and destroy the good reputation that Nokia had got in the past.
paco2x, 30 Jun 2017Well... i said about those HMD Nokia phones are nothing like the Nokia of yesterday, it's just... moreThe plan isn't bad.. all other brands you mentioned have 1 major shortcoming I.e after sale services.. Samsung galaxy j series phones aren't significantly better spec wise but they are most successful .. and you get the trust dependability after sale service ..
The plan was good even with these specs.. but execution/real world is disappointing.. they didn't need to offer killer specs.. just the get the the things they promised/advertised right...
Build quality + good camera + smooth OS experience for day to day tasks + good battery life and focus on after sale service and fast OS updates
Is a potentially great winnig combination... for brand like Nokia
Unfortunately they only got. Build quality right and nothing else.. hence the disappointment...
$150 for a brick.(if you know what i mean)
Better stole one from the street lol.
Nokia 9 where are you?
That's what happens when you use an entry level Mediatek chipset
Well... i said about those HMD Nokia phones are nothing like the Nokia of yesterday, it's just another generic android phone and some fanboys were quite aggressive with my opinion... but this review confirm my point. Brands like Motorola, Xiaomi and others are more attractive and offers more features for the same price. You can't rely too much on nostalgia to sell, sometimes works like the NES mini but for ultra competitive market like smartphones, it won't work.
I was waiting to see what came of this Nokia 3, and after reading the review, it's clear to me now that the Moto E4 is the better deal in this case.
Nice short review format.
But the Nokia 3 itself? I am going to look away, ignore it's existence and wait for the true Nokia flagship.
MdN8, 30 Jun 2017Two new "Nokias" tested, two disappointing cameras. I see a pattern here. Ari Partinen is in A... moreTo be fair, it's their first try. Just wait. And for camera engineer, just look at HMD's LinkedIn profile, you will see Nokia's engineer there :)
Two new "Nokias" tested, two disappointing cameras. I see a pattern here. Ari Partinen is in Apple now, Damian Dinning is probably still in Jaguar and Juha Alakarhu returned to Nokia from Microsoft, but to Nokia's VR division. So, most of the old Nokia camera engineers probably had nothing to do with this phone.
