In gsmarena's studio setup the Nokia 6 performs much better in low light than the Nokia 8
Anonymous, 25 Aug 2017Where is the MOTO Z2? why you guys keep on excluding that monster phone? are you afraid how mo... moreNope, moto z2 it's actually irrelevant, everybody knows it. Your are probably the only one that doesn't;). But yeah, i would prefer for Nokia to be put against sony motorola and alcatel, instead of xiaomi oneplus crapple or samesung. But well, those oldies but goldies are all left behind...
"It's a magic number for Nokia and the Android edition lives up to the standards of the 808 PureView[...]. In short, HMD got everything right in the camera department."
Is this a joke? No full manual mode, no raw (the review does not answer the question whether 3rd party apps support raw), sensor is 4.6times smaller than the Nokia 808, image processing is so bad (and also extremely slow) that there is no difference between dual camera or single camera and the autofocus seems to be awful.
Their dual camera algorithm seems to be embarrassing. When they are not able to write a good algorithm for the dual camera, it does not make sense.

No one has forced you to buy Nokia 8, you can get the G6 which you think is better for you. As for many of us we are eager to get this beast onto our hands with all that lovely camera, performance, quality and good battery! PEACE!!
What is the maximum exposure time?
Tough luck haters and trolls. Turns out the Nokia 8 is an actual flagship. A worthy contender! I can't wait to get mine.
AnonD-145316, 25 Aug 2017Lemme just laugh! Ha..haDid you even read/understand what I mean or just trolling around ?
BTW on lowlight test scene N8 has lower ISO then G6 - same IMX258 sensor! - but the result is just poor compared to G6.
looked again at the "Dollar" note of the test scene - Nokia worse than competition, but why ISO 160 was chosen ? - G6 and S8 at 50/64 !
Goodlight test scene should be better re-shoot with lowest ISO to compare apples with apples, maybe it will look a lot better then ...
Envision, 25 Aug 2017A lot of praise, but the test scene looks awful compared to G6 - good and low light, definatel... moreYou still doubtful with the guys that have actually handled the the real phone?! Accept that Nokia 8 is the real deal and move on!
Welcome back the Legend!!! Simplicity, quality, great imaging, realibility and great performance! We had missed you NOKIA!!
Terrific review! Bring on the comparison tests.
Still wayting for the Lumias comeback. Just imagine 1/1.6 sensor sitting behid f/2.0 lens and useing some good algorithmes like Google, LG or Samsung cameras do. It would bring really brilliant photo quality
Awful camera. Just check ouy how it stands against even midrange Nokia 6 and you'll be able to conclude what I've concluded. Why didn't take the monochrome shot and then in post-processing paint in in colours delivered by the colour sensor? The monochrome photos are way more sharper that the colour ones. Just can't understand their approach
Well GSM arena , it's been really great with all the honest review you did. Feeling delighted that It is an unbiased review(I know like me the reviewer is also a big Nokia fan from past, hehehehe)..To be honest other websites ( specially p...nearena) should learn from you guys . I'm too much emotional for Nokia for such a wonderful comeback. . Keeping fingers crossed for its India release.. Long live Nokia... .
A lot of praise, but the test scene looks awful compared to G6 - good and low light, definately not outstanding in camera department - and I like the brand ! (1020 once owner, would by same camera modul in newer phone anytime !
wow. I wasn't expecting such a good review. loud speaker seems amazing
I dislike the 1440p display, 1080p could have been so much better at gaming performance, thats the secret behind Iphone 7 Plus and Oneplus 5, only 1080p fast and lag free exp
Nostalgic but happy to see the icon back in business. Wish they drive innovation again but the 8 seems like a good beginning!
