When major OEMs start to roll out Oreo, Google will be ready with their next major release! This fragmentation will stay forever.
Seeker of Truth, 05 Sep 2017Not just Oppo but a lot of OEM also can't. For OEM they prefer updating their own UI than upda... moreBecause their os already has many of the stuff google is only adding to stock right now. The background limit thing, every manufacturer has it. The notification dots, why can't they just put a number? Engineers can be so stubborn sometimes.
I hope google doesn't force other manufacturers to use that background app notification for example. Just lack of common sense there.
imparanoic, 05 Sep 2017the article is incorrect, aptx hd is on sony xperia xz1 and xz1 compact ( as well as bluetooth... moreIt is not incorrect. It didn't say only pixel have this. It's explaining that id's the inky guarantee
Samsung, LG, HTC, Xiaomi, Huawei and even Lenovo's launcher has more features packed in than this Oreo update.. Who needs an update when everything works as it is with OEM launcher? Furthermore more bugs is sure to surface after this Oreo update and it will take at least 2 years to stabilize Oreo.. Thanks but no thanks
the article is incorrect, aptx hd is on sony xperia xz1 and xz1 compact ( as well as bluetooth 5.0) , ldac is also standard on sony xperia flagships /higher tier since z4, but some manufacturers can use the ldac software standard on oreo if they pay sony royalty,
Android is in my opinion severly unstable, Chrome freezes up, and then jumps 2 pages when you tap back once more. Its like it helps to nag at it lol, what gives its 2017, theres nanobots out there and they cant get a simple browser right?
Can somebody post a link or something to that wallpaper on page 1 of that review? Looks dope, I'd like to use that on my phone.
Anonymous, 04 Sep 2017Oppo could never get to this level. ugggh Not just Oppo but a lot of OEM also can't. For OEM they prefer updating their own UI than updating the Android.

Xdadevet, 04 Sep 2017Actually Android 8.0 Oreo has added massive support for system wide theming including all apps... morefor oreo they'll release theming manager that doesn't need root access called Andromeda
Anonymous, 04 Sep 2017Oppo could never get to this level. ugggh True Story 😂
Why still can't we toggle auto brightness in stock Android from notification area??
Oppo could never get to this level. ugggh
Im a Android users since 2010, but enough is enough. Cumbersome to the extreme. Oreo is the Emperors new clothes by the looks of it(I use Samsung S7 so I will get Oreo early 2019) Im buying iphone 8 for sure. Praise Apple.
Google is stuck in 2010. they can't even do youtube right. certain settings in youtube can only be accessed on a computer(!). And youtube dont understand that a video is loading so when you want to turn up the volume, the ringtone volume is adjusted. And that is just scratching the surface, What do all those people at google do all day?
Do they allow you to remove all the bloat what Google offers?
Actually Android 8.0 Oreo has added massive support for system wide theming including all apps. All you need is a generic theme manager that can be downloaded from the Play Store, such as Substratum.
Love the performance/smoothness of Oreo first release for the Pixel. Battery backup has to be better when on data and a dark option for notification pull down will be welcome. Though the lock screen clock and date's font have been made much smaller which is awful. Also double tap to wake should have stayed instead of this new quad tap to wake the screen.
