I am instantly going to shut up now, and never speak of plain substantiated facts ever again.

XtremE16, 13 Sep 2017https://www.instagram.com/p/BY_HvtPFb_k/ guys check out bezel less xperia Eh. Glad it's just a concept. Sony losing all the bezels is like Samsung losing home button and removable battery. Or other and the headset jack.

Trim them down and/or actually utilize them better for sure. But not gone. I think next year they will be forced to trim them down. I also think that given there come back this year that there wil be a few other improvements. Hopefully to camera and speakers.
And then the following year could be great improvements, plus Oled, and minimal bezels without hacking them all away.

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2017When solid state batteries arrive, Qnovo will be out the window...you can wait another 5 years for these kind of batteries, and if they will ever be released. The cost are way too high to produce them in mass. Expect a 100-150$ price tag for a single battery

Batteries haven't improved by much lately. While manufacters process SOC at 10nm, which is amazing and later in 7nm and lower, this helps battery consumption greatly. Android optimizations with every OS update is a must have too.
If only a different type of battery would be engineered to hold more charge, now that would be impressive.
Imagine a whole new battery type giving you 3days of full charge, this could revolutionate the whole electric industry, not only for smartphones, but, everything that requires batteries inclusive cars and even powering houses.
That qnovo better not be just marketing, if it really works, we could see some major improvements in batteries, not by much but if it is inded an improvement even only marginal, i just applaud them for that.
But what we really need is a a whole new battery invention and a safer one, safer than lithium...
Smartphones screens more and more are sporting 4k resolution, higher camera pixels, more bright light density, and all these apps which require a tremendous amound of energy. Batteries won't keep up with all these new technologies

Its all there on their site, explained in minute detail. I dont see any reason to believe its some marketing trick, except if I choose to believe its a marketing trick.
I m quite certain their big company clients staff examine in detail all the processing and benefitials before deciding to pay up the fees for using their product.

                        Clearly readable:
                        Manhatan gpx 3.1 onscreen
XZ Premium 5.5 inch running FHD achieves 41,
                        htc U11 5.5 inch 2k screen achieves 19...thats more than 100%
Some bigger 2k screens like s8 achieve even lower than htc u11.
Thats the difference in gaming performance.

hhmmm, 12 Sep 2017OIS is phones is worthless. fact is this phone has the smoothest video... proving EIS is superior. OIS useless?? LOL!! And actually you should see how well the Note8 does on video stabilizing in comparison.
If Sony would use OIS it would improve still photography, low light photography and video, and if combined with EIS could enhance video stabilizing.

                          Don't be a blind fanboy.

And you mean 2.5K. Saying 2K is basically the same as 1080p. So you are repeating the same resolution twice, but stating them as different.

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2017Qnovo tech protects battery from losing capacity the same speed of regular batteries. After... moreIf you believe in these marketing names then you'll be greatly disapointed. The technology behind (lipo-liion) only hold charge for 500 cycles, it's a hardware limitation of the battery. No miracles can be done to counter that, your battery will simply lose its full capacity overtime beginning from the first year. Expect a total of 500mah loss after 2years.
One way to counter it is charging your phone little by little, don't charge it overnight which drains your battery by a lot. charge it when you wake up.
I opted for the oneplus 5 only because of that, dash charge, in a half hour i optain 60% and it's enough to last till 6-7PM and charge it again before i go to sleep for another half hour if i drained it too much. Everything depens on how you charge and use your phone during the day.

With bezels - that in today's terms look like aircraft carrier flight decks - you are right about Sony not bothering to follow present trends.
