Samsung again hold the crown for most innovative design of this Era
I cannot find anywhere a setting to change video recording compression to HEVC. I have a US Note Snapdragon version on T-Mobile.
Anonymous, 27 Sep 2017This could be one of the most advanced phones ever. But regarding looks... the S8+ (not the s8... moreI for one prefer the note8's design over the s8+'s. The boxier and taller build suits me just fine.
TCool, 26 Sep 2017Update the OS.Did a reboot
Untill now everything works fine
This could be one of the most advanced phones ever. But regarding looks... the S8+ (not the s8 which is good looking but a bit narrow looking-overall, for my taste) still trumps the note 8 for me. Look at the picture of the s8+ on the conclusion page of this review. It is so joyously beautiful :) Not just me quite a few other people like the s8+ design over the current note design.
So I hope samsung keeps the above design for the S9+ series too while keeping this design for the next note. (as some people seem to like this design more than that ). I hope they dont mix up both the designs. Two slightly different design languages for two different phone lines to keep both the camps happy :). If they want to make a completely bezel less phone for the S9 series i hope they make a different phone for it. Like a 6.4 or even a 6.6 inch phone? (because a 6.6 inch phone with the two top bezels even as thin as the bezels the s8 series phones have now.... could be 'very tall' and unwieldy for a lot of people).
Apple made two different designs for different phone sizes of the same phone line, so why shouldnt (or cant?) samsung?
I have had mobile phones since my first was hard wired into my car and the handset on a bungee wire. NOKIA to IPHONE to ANDROIDS including Note 4. Note 8 is outstanding, holding the phone in my left and using my index figure with the fingerprint sensor is way, way easier and more practical then previous home button sensors - more often than not a two handed operation. The screen, the camera, the functionality, all eclipse any phone I have owned before. Cost is not an issue for me I could buy the latest iPhone as well but it doesn't come close to the Note 8. Thinking about getting one, don't hesitate, it is simply the best phone ever produced.

AnonD-327936, 17 Sep 2017A shame Samsung bundle so much unnecessary bloatware: Microsoft apps, Amazon and others. Not good.Uninstall them. Done.
AnonD-166214, 23 Sep 2017The note 8 is a beast but 2 bad things I dislike, 6 gb ram???? Don't think so, go to settings ... moreI'm not trying to say it's perfect, but at least pick factual things. It has 6gb of ram and finally keeps every app loaded pretty much.
And the battery life should have been way more, but is surprisingly great still
The note 8 is a beast but 2 bad things I dislike, 6 gb ram???? Don't think so, go to settings than device maintenance click clear or fix, still shows 2.4 gb??? It's only 4 or less, also the battery is terrible life...otherwise ok.on a scale 1 to 10, 10 the best I give it a 7..
For those stating the note 8 doesn't reach 1200 nits of max brightness under direct sunlight. It actually does but it's based on the battery percentage level of the device and how bright the sun is shining on the device. Samsung has specifically implemented a software mechanism of only allowing certain brightness levels at certain battery percentages and certain lighting conditions.
That's why you see different sites reporting different numbers. Displaymate tests their devices on the brightness sunlight possible or under conditions that simulate this type of brightness.
TCool, 20 Sep 2017Ok go for Lenovo Vibe P1 with whooping 5000mAh battery.i have Lenovo P1 already 2 years , still in Good Condition . good phone. but bluetooth connection is downside. S615 might also the problem. more than 1 task , the typing start sluggish.
4000mah is minimum for now day phone.
Anon, 23 Sep 2017The phone can't even fit in your jeans pocket. IAfter seeing samsungs with 6 inches all the way. 4.7 is tiny wtf. 4.7 inch only iphone and sony. And yes even with big bezels, it feels like iphone 6 has a bigger screen than galaxy a3 2017. Weird, I know.
lie, 21 Sep 2017GSM arena review showed at auto 860 nits check the review. And even when gsm showed the high maximum brightness that can be achieved others couldn't on their devices
