Anonymous, 30 Sep 2017I do not understand why a few sites like PA give so much credits to bokeh. Whats the point o... moreIt give your pictures a professional look and seperate the subject from background and looks pleasing compared to boring white wall (seriously how will a white wall make your pictures look good)

Clearly daylight images of xz1 compact are better than both S8 and 8 plus look at the text on the van far right in samples and foilage
AnonD-66340, 30 Sep 2017Look at Samsung Benchmarks and then, see it lag and hang :D SHAME!look at how you construct you sentence, SHAME! :)
What a shitty upgrade on the battery front, when the iphone 6S Plus has better endurance. Why didn't they put in a 3100 or 3300 mAh in this one? It's baffling.
denadapast, 30 Sep 2017but smartphone of the year is...Samsung Galaxy Note 8They announced it before the launch of iPhone 8 in India :)

Whats the point o... moreIm guessing youre not a photographer. Bokeh is the pleasing or aesthetic quality of out-of-focus blur in a photograph. Its not really about the background not being seen but more about the isolation of the subject wherever you are. Depending on what the photographer wants to achieve, its mostly used for artistic/creative purposes.
A white background wouldnt be that interesting, would it?
But hey... at least you have the option whether to use it or not.
In my opinion this artificial bokeh will never be as good as the real thing! but still its a nice Feature to have...
i don't think this phone will sell like hotcakes,
given the fact that the X is about to released.
IMO:if you are into decent and specs wise phone
with less price cost with beast inside
go for Xz1 Premiu Note8 or S8+
not a Samsung fan or Sony fan but really love this device XD
The noise reduction of the iPhone 8 looks extremely synthetic. Not good for pixel peepers. Just look at the lights next to the soccer pitch. Many artifacts!
P9 User, 30 Sep 2017look at the xp1 performance on geekbench shame!flagship smartphone's benchmark is irrelevant at this point.
Kudos to you GSMArena for photo comparisons. Always using full resolution, untouched images. The same locations for easy comparison. Great job!
Xperia and Galaxy S8 camera looked much more natural. The iPhone camera has a yellow tint, an issue that was already present with the iPhone 5 camera. Grey does not look grey with iPhones, rather beige, that's why iPhone cameras often have unnatural colors. Moreover the iPhone 8 looked oversaturated, the third image looks awful.
I compared the iPhone 8 Plus camera with a Nexus 5x which has 99% the same image quality as the Pixel in HDR+ On mode. The Nexus 5x had much better dynamic range with HDR+ On than the iPhone 8 Plus with HDR. Moreover the colors of the Nexus 5x with HDR+ were much more natural than the iPhone, for instance when I took a photo of a wooden table. The sky also looks more natural with the Nexus 5x. For instance the sky is grey, but with the iPhone 8 Plus it was blue.
In the old time iPhone superior hardware and innovative feature justify the high price and locked ios but now they just trailing behind android spec and android trailing iPhone prices. Sad.
look at the xp1 performance on geekbench
shame!
