isau, 03 Oct 2017also wth is the a11 bionic chip... with 2 monsoon + 4 mistral cores??? Mac OS High sierra?? ... moreAll apple cores are called on wind types. beginning with the A6 Chipset onwards. all cores are named on winds! just google all the CPU names from A6 onwards to A11Bionic. those are scientific wind types. and no. I am not a hipster girl. a techie geek girl wound be more precise!
Iphone 8 photos are much better than Iphone 8+ according to gsmarena picture compare tool:
"Apple has already convinced Netflix to grant the two iPhones access to its HDR library"
And this is despite the iPhone 8 not having true HDR display capabilities and not even Full HD resolution. That's Apple for you folks.....
iPhones have many drawbacks and Apple is not the type of company that listens to feedback and fixes their imperfections. Rather their motto is more like "Force it down their throats and let's see if they swallow it" (the removal of the 3.5 mm headphone jack).
The battery life is pathetic for a phone with such a low-res screen. The 8 Plus is way better. The XZ1 Compact shows how it's done. You see there is only so much an efficient processor can do, hence a good battery capacity is necessary.
Mono Audio???!!! Pathetic.
It's the equivalent of watching a Chris Nolan IMAX movie in a theatre with the sound coming from your small Bluetooth speaker.
And that ancient unimproved Video app?! No words, actually....
Anyway, the iPhone does have pretty good things.
The CPU and GPU are out of this world as are on-screen frame rates. In mechanical parlance, whether you are looking for the best power or the best power-to-weight ratio, the iPhone 8 is your best choice. Great loudspeaker and clear audio quality. Good camera too.
Yeah, sony wins in compact battery endurance. Shame that their camera is behind in low light, years in f2.0, wonder why.
So much for the hype of the a11 bionic chip. In antutu, we only saw a marginal increase in benchmark. But for the others, it sure is a huge deal but im relying more on antutu.
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2017"don't care much for processing power and speed" but with that opinion, you are aloneIf you think paying three times more for extra processing power is worth it, go ahead. There are many others who don't.
Why to bother and make a new review, just copy the review of iPhone 7.
Despite this phone is heavier than xz1c, its endurance rating is merely over half of the Sony. This smaller battery, heavier and more expensive than their predecessor is unacceptable.
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2017I'd get the much cheaper A3 but comparable over this.A3 can compete with (much cheaper) iPhone 5s
Qleopatra, 03 Oct 2017Sony xperia xz1 compact totally crashed this phone badly in all aspects except low-light photo... morexz1 compact is a wannabe high end phone, but heavily overpriced. It is maybe able to fight iPhone 7, or 6s.

Iphone battery is pretty crap...
Xperia XZ1 compact 108 h
Iphone 8 66 h.
NewHorizons, 03 Oct 2017comparable? A3 cant be compared even against iphone 6iPhone 6 is an ancient piece of crap that uses only 8 megapixel camera and has no water and dust resistance. Although iPhone 8 beats A3 hands down in terms of processor but I don't need all that processing power. Both are water- and dust-resistant. They have the same RAM, A3's memory can be expanded to more than the iPhone's and iPhone camera quality looks mediocre. A3 has the advantages of an AMOLED screen, headphone jack, FM radio and significantly larger battery. All these for one-third the price of an iPhone 8. The choice is really obvious if you just want a compact phone and don't care much for processing power and speed.
