LG superfan, 17 Oct 2017Google phone never had sd card (except original nexus) so stop complaining about itThat's no excuse to not have an SD card slot(this is intentional tactic to make more profit out of the same phone), this is the first iteration of google phones with waterproofing rating while competition was having these feature since long time, still no wireless charging, when asking price is less these things fly under radar, but when you are asking a premium price without having many premium features, then that becomes a problem. They inexplicably took out headphone jack, the only reason i can see is the existence of Pixel pods. Despite having wireless headphones around for a long time, that market still hasn't grown much, I think Apple and Google are trying to tap that market by removing headphone jacks on their phones, 160$ for a headphone that sounds just about as good as any 30-40$ wired iem, that's daylight robbery.... Unethical business practices should not be encouraged and buyers can vote with their wallet... that was his point.

water ripple effect past focus area, purple fringing, poor noise reduction algorithm, overall colors are punchy but unnatural, terrible specs for the asking price and moreover any decent Chinese counterpart would smoke this phone with specs and camera quality:) with lesser price.

Call quality review,cell reception review,Bluetooth connection review,wifi connection witybdistance review and speaker quality review would have been nice. More clarification on e-SIM would have been nice for frequent travelers who often travel between Asia,Middle East and Europe which need to use an existing SIM card that they already have on hand. A more thorough review would be nice. Would like to see if new antennas were improved upon for cell reception,wifi reception and Bluetooth reception.

While everyone is using dual camera's, keeping the same size sensor, use a bigger sensor, or uses more mega pixels... the pixel 2 got more expensive, didn't use a dual camera, didn't use a bigger sensor, didn't increase resolution, or even keep the same size. They reduced it. Had they at minimum kept the same size or at least increased resolution for the smaller pixels the photos would be better.
Instead you get no headphone jack, smaller sensor, and price hikes.

Photos are smaller and then they do not allow you t... moreNo. They are using 12mp to use bigger sensors with bigger pixels that offer superior quality per pixel. But on the downside you can only fit so many mega pixels that large into a tiny phone sensor. It's a give and take.
And sadly phones today have to be so slim manufactures can't do better

Colors are worse, it's oversharpened, there is more ... moreU clearly showed that u are trolling, and even if I didn't notice that if u say that it is worse than the Nexus then reviewers would have already complained about it! It is no doubt that their camera is getting better and better, and can be considered as the best, but I think they can do better on their design to be honest. But seriously, they got the best camera currently, so accept reality dude! Stop trolling

Won't get updates as quickly or for as long
But yeah, the "tech" is better. Enjoy that while I have the better user experience.

I'd rather buy an iPhone than this despite hating Apple. No exaggeration. The SoC of the iPhone is vastly superior. The color management for the display and capturing photos and videos is better. Video is possible at 4k 60p.

They are way over priced for what they offer.
And the nexus devices where cheaper at a rightful price point. And they were not losing profit or angering others.
But the pixel is only so much better. Yet costs a lot more.
The pixel just doesn't offer much of anything in hardware or features compared to similarly or much cheaper priced devices.
