ApplePen, 09 Nov 2017why so much hate with the headphone jack when other OEM's already taken them out ?embrace the ... moreBecause:
1. Bluetooth still doesn't provide the same audio quality that the headphone jack provides, not to mention it drains the battery even faster. Plus you have to charge to two devices (the bluetooth earphones + the phone itself), creating more e-waste.
2. Removing the headphone jack creates more wear on the USB-C or lightning port by repeatedly plugging the earphones, compared to having a dedicated headphone jack. More wear on the USB-C or lightning port = earlier replacement and premature failure.

AnonD-115822, 09 Nov 2017Apple has been very generous with the iPhone X , 1200€ you get 3Gb Ram in order to be obsolete... moreMy iphone 6 has only 1GB of ram,yet is as fast as any 2017'en android in what's matter=day to day working tasks.Granted am not gamer, the phone is working(calls, emails, remainders, few specific app)tool for me.
And any electronic device these days will get obsolet in 3 years time, its "how well" serves those years that matters. And Apple is unmatched here.
But right now, the iPhone X feels like a rushed product with beta software, overhyped and overpriced. -GSM Arena
the truth hurts Icrapple Fans. LOL
Looks like Apple are on to another winner..
which is hardly a surprise. Congrats to Apple.

For more ac... moreI disagree, GSM tests from my experience give a fair comparison between devices. IPhones generally have not had great batteries both for life and speed of recharging. They perform well on standby and light usage, but once you start putting them under pressure they die fast, which I have learned from bitter experience.

Too much standby time, too little use time. For more accurate time search mrwhosetheboss on youtube . He stress tests the phone while keeping the screen on. There the iphone X shines and it is only behind oneplus 5 (the android champ of flagship phones).
Iphone X's *actuak* battery is the best of any iphone and one of the best in the world. For years we are calling gsmarena to change its methodology so that to reflect more of modern use (most people use their phone with the screen on for more than 5 hours per day and very few do any calls).
If/when gsmarena changes the tests to reflect modern use you are going to see that iphone x is near the top.
tl;dr: If you want battery life you buy iPhone X this gen around:

why so much hate with the headphone jack when other OEM's already taken them out ?embrace the fact that technology is evolving , and you cant do nothing about it.
the usual iphone with all its limitations. No memory expansion, no audio jack, not the best amoled screen, mediocre battery, itunes dipendency, still mono audio in video recording
Come on, dual batteries and endurance is still way below 100 hours?! For the ridiculous price, you should get at least a good battery-life - but no, they failed.
i have the phone for a week now, it works flawlessly, butter smooth , gestures are great .
It is the best amazing phone ever
the bezels are too thick (not joking), compared to lets say S8 side bezels, this is quite thick. A bezel size that of for example the S8 on 3 sides and a thin bezel (not a notch) at the top would be ideal..
Apple has been very generous with the iPhone X , 1200€ you get 3Gb Ram in order to be obsolete in 3 years and by the next one.
Dual battery but still has mediocre to below average battery life. Battery saving benefits of using OLED pretty much obliterated by the fact that iOS uses an all-white interface draining the battery even more.

Pretty much ends the OLED is more efficient idea except for dark videos and when always on display is used. Hopefully the next big development of microled doesn't take too long to become affordable.
Admittedly, I've got one on order - the first iPhone since the 5 and I'm still on the fence. A good portion of my decision is due to my wife and kids having Apple devices. The performance numbers look good, the camera looks good, and some of the features are good. The longevity of updates is appealing as well. However, the gesture controls look like they came from Blackberry 10 but not as refined (which strictly as an OS interface is much better in my opinion), unsure of FaceID and I'm anything but sold on iOS and Apple's infrastructure. I'm puzzled why the Truedepth camera is only on the front - it would seem to me that the same function on the back would be a better idea in order to use as 3D mapping function. I still don't understand the lack of a notification light. I believe other phones have better hardware (except possibly the A11 chip). I'll get used to the notch on the top, but it's distracting. Hopefully, I won't regret this purchase, but if I cannot get it to work for me, I'll find an Android flagship - Google, Blackberry, Nokia, Samsung or Sony. I'll hope that those Android manufacturers ups their game in 2018.
"This means the AMOLED screen is more power hungry than the LCD unit on the iPhone 8 Plus"
A lot more.
According to displaymate.com, the iphone 7 (4.7) consumes a maximum of 1.08W, the plus 1.5w tops. Meanwhile the X goes from 1.75 to 3.25 depending on how much white is.
For comparison, the note 8 tops at 2.05w.
