I pre-ordered the U11+ when it went on sale for black friday but if the battery and screen are as bad as reported here I guess i'll have to send it back when it arrives and get an LG V30 instead :|

That didn't stop the Nokia 8. Though HTC didn't perfect their new Super LCD6 since it's new and they've been using Super LCD5 for years.

china import ? ebay ? and you already returned it ? Wow you must be a real mage.
I bought this phone a week ago with high expectations, as a previous HTC U11 owner thought this phone was gonna be great man i was wrong. I completely agree with this review. The screen is sub par to todays flagships ie iPhone X, galaxy note 8, even Oneplus 5T...its dull not bright and all around not good imo. With always on display on i had terrible light bleed on screen from bottom right corner. Finally for a phone with this big of battery the battery life was awful...my phone was RETURNED and i will not be getting another. Poor job HTC
I hate some OEMs are using limits on how long you can shoot 4K.
They did not do it in past years.
"We can't argue with the choice of CPU or the amount of RAM and storage. This phone scored the highest mark we've seen an Android phone score on Antutu."
Not the first time we see HTC "optimize" benchmark app .
battery is weak. and yes Samsung and LG and Huawi are showing demos of their phones everywhere whereas HTC demos are nearly nowhere. boomsound is good but i wont buy a phone without 3.5mm. design is stunning but also GS8s design is.
Anonymous, 28 Nov 2017Thanks for replying to the comment as many people have the same questions about your battery t... moreYes, we always check the battery stats after a test. If it's a suspisious one we even reset the device and start over. With U11+ we found the only two things to drain the battery during the SOT tests - Video/Chrome app and screen. Nothing else. Obviosuly it's an issue with software or hardware, but we don't know what. If the screen gets hot because eating too much power juice - this would explain the poor battery life and the limited 300nits brightness for overheating prevention. It's just a thought, of course.
No bias here, it was a retail unit and it was a legit test. If we get our hands on another unit we'll retest it after the next major update, that's for sure.
Max SoT for me is 10h and this is amazing. Also, camera is better than on S8, S8+... Only problem with HTC is marketing and not performance
How will you explain that on box photos there is adapter to 3.5mm jack and You say there is no inside? So that there is no audio test..
Or there is other explanation?
300 nits is dim even for AMOLED, not talking about the LCD (which is used in this phone), who are usually brighter by huge margin.
Battery Life has to be wrong, HTC usually does just as well if not better than LG at optimizing their phones to get the best battery life possible from a snapdragon soc. which has always been better than Samsung's snapdragon optimization. Using LCD shouldn't cause such a huge difference than similar phones using oled, just looking at the normal U11 should make that clear. If the battery life is indeed as bad as GSM says it is then HTC will no doubt fix it with an update because the phone is obviously not using the final software optimization that will come with the official release of the U11+.
