Cbg, 28 Nov 2017I'm seriously starting to.doubt gsmarena's numbers when it comes to these endurance tests. It'... moreDon't listen to both the reviewers and GSMarena. They both overestimate battery capabilities. According to GSMarena, any phone lasts at least 8h of SOT (Including this one), which is just ridiculous. And for most people 2-3 hours of actual usage +8h of standby means "the battery lasts a day". Not to mention many are claiming 2 or even 3 days.

kenosis, 28 Nov 2017I am in a dilemma between HTC U11+ and LG V30+. Is there any comparison review of these two d... moreI think the v30+ only increases storage not ram ... and gives some headphones in the box ... the phone should perform identically to the standard v30.
So joke battery.
Nothing spectacular in performance.
Software lost to google.
Audio quality will depend on adapter.
Does U stands for Pathetic in HTC language?
I'm seriously starting to.doubt gsmarena's numbers when it comes to these endurance tests. It's all perspective but this is the second phone I've seen with terrible battery scores but have seen reviewers say its battery is quite impressive. Seems quite fishy but like always I take these reviews with a pinch of salt and perspective

A good phone is touch and feel, usability and comfort.
I suggest you to choose a Sammy phone and leave serious phones to HTC users
Anonymous, 28 Nov 2017Most people dont understand that barely having a full day of battery life with a brand new pho... moreExactly. Besides, what they consider a "full day" is usually half day of SOT, which means they can't count on it even with a new battery.
Most people dont understand that barely having a full day of battery life with a brand new phone is not enough.
Give it a few months and it surely wont last through a whole day anymore!
As far as the battery is concerned I am 100 percent sure it will improve over the time with update. May be some optimization issues led to such low performance. But regarding screen they should have just compared it with iPhone 8 plus screen. That would have given more realistic and practical comparison for us to judge. Simply making a statement of being good or bad screen depends on reviewers bias and experience. It looks like a great and we'll balanced phone if it has screen as good as iPhones.
I think one should really check the phone in person for display and see if it's a deal breaker or not. Battery life though still looks good to last a full day. For now, this and LG V30 look like the best your money can buy with Sony a close second with their software support so far. Pixel and it's issue will make you think hard about the money spent, Huawei is yet to show how responsive it is in software update and Samsung, though feature rich, needs a faster and better experience for the software. I have used an S8 and now on S7 but the lags whenever came, made my phone unresponsive for that moment and trust me, it doesn't feel nice if frequent.
just another crap phone from HTC, I have both u11 and u11+, the screen brightness of u11+ is lower than u11 which is already much lower than other competition. also, auto focus and gps of 11+ is slower than u11, slightly better battery life than u11 which is unacceptable given its much larger battery size. screen color is not accurate which I excepted as super lcd5 is just a cheap display sourced from sub-par supplier...and the top and bottom bezel are still too big...
VoloKin Project, 28 Nov 2017So HTC did it again, great overall phone but there are better ones for the money. HTC U Ultra ... moreThey always have a big weakness...m7 m8 m9 camera... htc 10 quiet speakers boring design bad battery life htc u11 ugly front with only black front bezel boring back....now u11+ bad screen and low battery life...
Why cant they make good overall phone?????
TheProperGentleman, 27 Nov 2017I think instead of just giving a score, GSMA should also give us the battery life in day to da... moreWell SOT of 6h is obviously not a full day. And according to GSMarena most phones last even more. So yes, tests are not realistic, but because the results are actually better than what you get in real life. And they are testing in WiFi. that''s soo 20th century. It's #g/4G usage that matters. GPS and games too. And video, at least tests here should be realistic.
[deleted post]Hi Nick,
Does the poor battery life has something to do with always on display? As AOD can be less efficient on LCD.
And the screen being dimmer? Is it really challenging to use outdoors ? Like when u need to snap a photo or take videos or reading messages on a sunny day? Or still acceptable ?
This is the only review I've read or watched that had the U11+ have poor battery life. There was one who even said he had a problem draining the battery.
And this is why everything isn't based on specs or numbers. Large battery we would praise, we can laugh at the real life endurance
