"On other occasions, when relying on raise to wake to activate the screen, the screen doesn't wake up quickly enough, so you decide to push the power button, but just as you do, the screen wakes up, and the result - your pressing of the power button turns it off instead. Total disaster. Happens more often than we thought."
Why would you press a power button when iPhone X has tap to wake? If you use power button to wake up your screen, it means you still have to move your finger to swipe to homescreen, so why you just don't tap the screen and your finger is already closer to make the swipe up gesture?
Personally i don't like to press any physical buttons with phone and X removed that, i very rarely have to push any physical button, new swipe gestures works great, makes the user experience very smooth. Before X i hardly never used app switching, but with X it became second nature just by swiping from bottom, it's so fast to jump between recent apps.
Interesting review, but I am not exactly sure what the benchmarks are. I love my X. After a few days I think it's a much better experience than the Edge it replaced, with better camera and less bugs. Voice recognition on the Edge had become worse over the last year and sometimes it doesn't even react to voice commands, while the iPhone is faster and much more accurate. I also really like the face recognition, it works perfectly for me.
