"The Sony Xperia XA2 did poorly when hooked up to an active external amplifier, having very distorted output and low volume. Frequency response and intermodulation distortion were way off the mark, suggesting some sort of issue the phone had in this case."
So if I was to buy a Sony for some weird reason, I couldn't really use my portable headphone amp/DAC with this one. Horrible.
shame that audio still doesn't seem to be a strong point in Sony smartphones... but this one does support aptX HD (in addition to their proprietary LDAC, i think?) and it's relatively affordable, so it should be a good option for wireless listening
i gotta to say, this is quite proper mid range with it price,so buying it it quite worth it
This phone is 100 times better than overpriced galaxy A8(2018). Best price in their price point. The most underrated feature in xperia phone is that it has Qnovo charging which extend the lifespan of the battery. Even iPhone battery degrade to such a extend that they need to replace it within a year whereas Xperia mid to flagship phones are good for 2 years. Really awesome tech.
I just hope Sony has not used a plastic camera lens like they did on the last XA line up. The previous XA1 was also very buggy which might have been the Mediatek chip
