I had this phone since october. i bought it because i nokia has a reputation for being durable, which this phone is not. my last phone was a nokia n8, which i had since 2010
the lcd broke last january. it was in my front pocket, maybe it bent a little when i bent down, or maybe it got squished a little when i sat down. but the phone was physically fine. the exterior was pristine, no marks, the glass was intact, but the lcd had lines and the display was messed up and unreadable. i couldnt even put in my pin to unlock it after i restarted it. brought it to nokia care and they fixed it for free.
besides that i really hate that it doesnt support miracast. it wont project to my home tv

When you criticise the screen size, I'd like to stress that you solely speak for yourself.

Also I said Sony's image processing is now bad, and that brands that use Sony camera modules take better photos than Sony, I don't know about third camera apps results on Sony, I know what they do on my Galaxy, but there was Camera Pro for Symbian (and some others) which added some controls that stock camera software didn't provide and had some more tweaking abilities. So, this goes for Nokia too.
As for history, the K750 was a legend with its 2 megapixels, K800 was as good as N73 and both were better than D900, but this is simply not how you talk to people. I admit that Sony had some good cameras, but you refuse to admit that Nokia had good cameras. Ego maniac or a brand fanatic? Nice photos from the Elm, let me quote GSMArena Elm review: "The amount of resolved detail is excellent, comparable to the best in the class – Sony Ericsson C901 and the Nokia 6700 classic."

A safe move is exactly what Nokia should do for the first months - people don't have the Apple fan-like mentality of simply handing out money toget whatever they make.
Nevertheless, it's the right choice. If they tried to go full-out the first time, it most likely would result in a worse device.
MdN8, 05 Feb 2018Here, I did some work for you:
Nokia N8 vs Xperia S:
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features... moreYou don't understand one thing. Sony models had manual controls by third camera apps. Its manual controls were absolutely much better than any Nokia at its sensor size (808 is the only exception). What you show there is only what you had as results by stock cameras (and non-camera Sony models like Walkman ones). But the hardware on Sony was and still is: mind blowing. Sony had better results than Nokia until N8 at stock cameras and even at much smaller sized sensors. Even with that I had Sony Xperia with amazing results that Nokia only had with 808 despite its size.
Remeber its Sony Greenheart. A Sony - ISX006 sensor did what no other did at that time, see for yourself:
Sadly but still Nokia=Placeb, 8 is the latest proof.
mmm...that old locomotive reminds me of such a great company CFR...I bet that the trains were moving faster using that locomotive then compared with the trash that they are using now...mmm CFR ..perfect recipe for the crappiest management one can have in a country!
anyway...abut the pictures quality...it is quite sad to realise that my zefone 3 takes better photos than the Nokia 8 in certain circumstances.
AnonD-83644, 06 Feb 2018It was on Windows MobileSorry i actually responded to someone else, apparently his comment is deleted... kind of wierd. I had very few to no problems on w.mobile with whatsapp. Actually the ones i had (not reciving notifications, sometimes) i also have on android. It is actually a whatsapp fault, their servers are pretty much unstable since they moved to the so called "encryption". The app is just like a launcher, everything is on their servers. The servers do not send the packets towards the app sometimes. Leting users think you are not having internet. While accessing the app will automatically look for information, by "herself" thus, becomming the messages that were send hours ago. This was actually the only problem, the fun part is that i still have it. I always tought that whatsapp is actually shi..ng on windows users.
AnonD-83644, 05 Feb 2018WhatsApp or Telegram never worked very wellI have does a format after having problems after oreo update. Since then 4 weeks, no problem occured. The problems started after the update, only after 4 days, tops.
Sonyuser85, 05 Feb 2018So you used SE phones before N8, still have them in your pocket?! Thank you for confirming. I ... moreYou have no idea what you're talking about, only to praise your sony, and i am fanatic!? Let me guess, you know who's the king of cedonia too, right? Yes kid, i use and used smartphones since 2003. Probably you were like 5 at that time. And i owned from samesung “crappiest devices ever“ to Sony Ericson “some were good, some were meah at best“ to Motorola “meah“ to Siemens “this ones i actually liked more then nokia, the dumb ones were quite smart". As fir camera. Everything till date is behind Nokia no matter what. Maybe their is a device or two that does good pictures and in comparison with nokia devices at their times, but that's about it. Now, go cry somwhere esle. I still have devices that can prove what i claim. You kid, don't have them. So, go swim or do something positive. You need it.
Carol, 03 Feb 2018Nobody has them, but only gsmaren. Most probably they did not format after oreo update.Yes, you are right and I have formatted my phone to see the possibilities. There is an overall change but true colours can be seen only in long-term use.

Sonyuser85, 04 Feb 2018Contrast or what?! N8 was weaker than any SE at that time on daylight. Just for its flash? Oh ... moreGetting desperate? City lights vs nature and no lights? After downloading and adjusting the gamma, I'd say both photos are equally good, however the N8 one is 16 MP while the Sony one was downscaled to less than 1 megapixel so you can't judge it by any standards. If I took a photo with a 70 megapixel potato and downscaled it to 1 MP it would be just as good.
Apparently you can't tell the difference between contrast and dynamic range?
I said "even without flash" but your conspiracy theory mind only registers the things it wants.
Anyway, very few people wanted to buy SE phones. I liked my K800 but every time I took it in my hand the cheap plastic would squeak like it was wrapped in a plastic bag. Mobile Review said it was the same when the phone was new. My sis had a SE "Live With Walkman" - same thing, squeak squeak. I tried a few new ones in the shop - squeakety squeak. Now they make their flagships from metal and glass, but it's too late. And their cameras are behind - or, more precisely, their image processing. All you have are placebo posts saying "But Sony is good too because I say so". And you accuse the others of doing what you're doing just because you don't know photography but want to look smart. ;-)
