Samsung only started making smartphones earlier than Sony, but Sony has been making mobile phones way before Samsung. Camera phones, to be exact.
But when we talk about super slow motion, it is Sony. But since you're ignorant, you will just call me stupid, then find excuses like Samsung will do it better (it clearly doesn't).
Who told you that I'm an expert? Oh wait, you assumed it. You are dreaming, I guess? Wake up! Your Samsung isn't the best, that is the reality. I don't remember saying that I'm an expert with Samsung. In fact, you even know more about Samsung than me, while I know more with Sony. The main difference is that I am open to other brands like Samsung. If you can't stop being sided with Samsung while bashing Sony, I guess this conversation will not lead to anything good.
DarkJava, 13 Mar 20181/8 SS is a joke. The S9 is compared at 1/14.iPhone X at 1/4ss. Yeah it makes sense, any Apple is senseful.

If it had a notch the notification would be a couple of lines higher.
Samsung's design is ancient, thankfully not many are following it.
Samsung is a very conservative and a very bad company. Each year her flagship sales are worst than the last. People are waking up, only hardcore fans still followmthismconservative company.
Well that settles it. It's back to Apple for me after S4, S5, S7 Edge and S8. Ordered by level of hate: Bloatware, no optical zoom, back of the phone looks cheap, edges are overdone and result in accidental input, impossibility to remap Bixby button is straight arrogant, sub-par display compared to iPhone X.
I was going to buy one. The 9+. But with no IR blaster it's a no go!
I stopped reading after the battery test....
Well its funny to see people complaining about the same design as the S8. Infinity Display is a new trend for Samsung and S8 is the 1st to get 18.5:9 screen. And guess what? It is the best design in mobile world. We as a customer just about to get used of it so why need to change the design so sudden? U guys as a Samsung fan should feel glad that the S9 didnt come with the notch.lol.

I don't applaud Samsung's effort here, however they refined the S8 formula, just like S7 refined S6 formula, and did very well relevancy and sales wise
Buy the S8+ instead, I know I will do it. The S8+ will be great value for money, the S9/S9+ makes me fall asleep, no animatronicemoji or f.2.4 aperture will change my mind!

You have only tried Samsung 960fps one single time and claim to be an Expert…hahaha…leave it to the real professionals please. You are only embarrassing yourself here.
Slow-mo videos 960fps from gsmarena… https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s9-review-1734p8.php
Xperia phones had a steep learning curve for hitting the button at the right time. We missed a lot of balloon pops, and it took us numerous attempts across a few days until we got the know-how.
Samsung captures the action automatically.
The phone begins the slow-mo sequence automatically thanks to a new clever AI algorithm, and you don't have to learn how and when to turn it on. And that's not just PR talk - we tried it, and we didn't miss a single balloon pop out of 20 or so takes. How about that?!
There is an option for manual triggering also.
Battery Life are just exactly same as 2015 Samsung A7 , you will facing 24% battery life at 4pm .
This S9 phone going to be forgettable in next few months for such
uninspired battery life performance and same design as S8.
Lets wait next upper middleranger (SND670/700) with better power eficiencies
and reasonable price.
S9 definately not in my 2018 list.
bye bye sammy. Your product quality not exceeding $800 price tag.
Anonymous, 12 Mar 2018 It could easily improve by release. Jeez. And doesn't describe the snap versionTo get acceptable battery life you need always on off? Wtff otherwise 50h endurance. Thats a lot worse than 2015 phones. S9 with the new Always Plugged to the wall feature.
There is a high level of noise, I wonder how GSM missed that.

Samsung only had it first because they made smartphones earlier than Sony. Otherwise, Sony has been making fantastic video cameras way before Samsung was a big thing.
Samsung only has the advantage of Automatic detection because of a slightly better SoC. But in my testing, it wasn't consistent and didn't work the first time I've tried it. I didn't give it another shot due to the limited time of me testing the phone, but one thing is, the quality is amid at best. At least Sony has FHD option for it to be more usable than plain 720p, which appears lower than what the resolution says.
Many people had the XZ Premium and it only took them a little bit of practice to get things right, and the final results were amazing. Samsung is just following Sony with this path.
