Kudos to Sony. Photos from low light test look more detailed than everybody else on the market (in this gsmarena test), albeit noisier though.
Still, quite impressive!

Conclusion was always:
that best is somewhere in between...,
but also that higher mpx cameras are better due to less noticable noise, due to higher picture res, and renders out the need to supress it too much and loose detail/sharpness.
Sony used its camera mpx advantage to the best here.

The thing is...after the heavy compression to social media web format, noise will be even less noticable and some detail lost, so picture from a 19 mpx cam will end up like a 8 mpx one. And from a 12 mpx one, will look like a 4 mpx one.
Try it out, download samples from some Xperia user, and some other, and examine both up close.
Like curve back from moto X,
Deep stereo bass from moto ROKr,
Fast and stable update,
Better than compatitor which sadly just new SoC & camera, old QC 2.0
Sony Is dead Since 2015
And they Keep releasing overpriced junks.. I really loved Sony in past... but now Im Done with them
Who wants to buy a phone without something as basic as a 3.5mm jack? What benefit is there in ditching the jack and inconveniencing users with a lousy adapter, all this just to ape Apple? Apple ditched the jack because it wanted to sell expensive adapters and Air Pods but Sony is just a loser that wants to hang on to Apple's coat tails.

Just come back again to read a comment... so many SONY hater and SONY's guardian here
Anonymous, 15 Mar 2018Who first jump to the battery life page?I jumped to lab tests. But mainly the display, because it is what we use to operate the phone. I can't enjoy a super fast device with high quality camera, audio, long-lasting battery life, and great software with a bad display.

The S9 is cleaner but doesn't get the advantage of extra details. The XZ2's noisy image looks more of a true camera image than an artificial artwork like the S9.

Both phones have the same 4 frame noise reduction technology, but the S9 is clearly better in term of noise reduction. In my opinion when i'm going to share pictures in low light conditions on social media, less noise or even free from the noise is the most important thing to me, the detail and the color afterwards.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2018Who first jump to the battery life page?Nope. I always first jump to the camera department.
Anonymous, 14 Mar 2018It is what I called perfecting the specs, not what the casual called inferior specs.Yea that's how it should be called, however as you can see a lot of people here how accidently happen to mention Samsung in their posts, disagree.
When Google achieved the same results with their original Pixel (having the same amount of details on higher ISO values than direct competitors despite the higher presence of noise) then it was all good. But now, as Sony does it, it's crap.
Also, I've noticed that Sony articles generate more comments than others, and a lot of them add Samsung to the party, for no apparent reason and with little to no arguments.
