Anonymous, 14 Mar 2018It is what I called perfecting the specs, not what the casual called inferior specs.Yea that's how it should be called, however as you can see a lot of people here how accidently happen to mention Samsung in their posts, disagree.
When Google achieved the same results with their original Pixel (having the same amount of details on higher ISO values than direct competitors despite the higher presence of noise) then it was all good. But now, as Sony does it, it's crap.
Also, I've noticed that Sony articles generate more comments than others, and a lot of them add Samsung to the party, for no apparent reason and with little to no arguments.
Step forward, 14 Mar 2018Yep I would agree. A bit of common sense and a trained eye, and you can spot which one is the ... moreIt is what I called perfecting the specs, not what the casual called inferior specs.
Voxter, 14 Mar 2018Too many flaws for its price. All just has been commented before from the design to the lack o... moreRight. It's not say it's bad...But for the price and what should be common by it being 2018..And what Sony is capable of...it just doesn't cut it.
Nick, 14 Mar 2018Nope, if you really have "trained eyes" you will be able to clearly tell the difference betwee... moreSorry but you are missing the point here. Look at the ISO values of both phones and draw a conclusion based on that. S9 duo has heavy noice reduction even on low ISO values, heck even at daytime shots which inevitably reduces the details. And the fact that they both have the same amount of details on such different ISO values is not doing S9 duo any favors, that's a solid fact.
Another fact is that the S9 duo are a pair of great all around devices, but you've got to give credit where is due and be honest.
Too many flaws for its price. All just has been commented before from the design to the lack of features and some specifications. The slippery, unstable and thick design, the bad selfie camera, the lack of audio jack, the lower display resolution, the lack of fast charger out of the box, the adapter not supporting quick charging too, the lack of ois at that price, etc. And positive only three basically, the latest SoC as usual, the good speakers and an improvement in some algorithms of the camera app. The flop of this phone and the compact could be epic. Comparable to the HTC U Ultra. The Sony shareholders could be raging a lot in few months. We will see.
Nick, 14 Mar 2018Nope, if you really have "trained eyes" you will be able to clearly tell the difference betwee... moreOh man, this XZ2 shot is great.
That other one looks just too color dull, and its narrower field of view.
Maybe if XZ2 took the shot at same 12 mpx and 4:3 format...maybe it would look dull too.
Btw, you havent commented on the snails detail on that shots before?
On S9 you could barely "read" the snail, but on XZ2 the snail was cleary readable.
Ok people just take some remedy for your skin inflame ......Sony did good job this time .. This company don't want to be a competitor for apple or damdung they are just for their fans like me and advertise some technologies on their phones for sell to others ..
eelpout, 14 Mar 2018they already made it weigh a lot at 198g, a bigger battery would have only made it heavier. I ... moreThen they shouldn't have made it so thick. The whole big saving factor for these lower battery capacities is because they are flagships with mite efficient SoC so they are thinner blah blah. And battery life is decent blah blah. But now is chunky and still not cheap and lacks a good 1000-3000mah too make up for it. It doesn't matter if the battery life is decent anyway. Then the device should have been a lot thinner
Anonymous, 14 Mar 2018 Except they failed and didn't need to change anything except reduce bezels. Which of course w... morethey already made it weigh a lot at 198g, a bigger battery would have only made it heavier. I think they did pretty good with battery life this time around based on gsmarena's tests. Sony's Stamina software in general for battery handling is better than most.
it is chunky in the center though, started carrying around my old Lumia 810 to remind me what that's like. :)

Try reading signs of those stores, they are equally identifiable(=same amount of details)on both but S9 has less noise.
Looks like I'll stick with my Mate 10 which is obviously still far shooter than this...
eelpout, 14 Mar 2018>> Original design
yeah, I think that's the key. this is Sony's "design turn around"... more Except they failed and didn't need to change anything except reduce bezels. Which of course were not really that bad on all their devices to begin with. Just a couple and only to people whining on the internet.
But this route? And to go that thick with such an underwhelming battery capacity to fit it...
