Sense sible, 14 Mar 2018No 3.5mm jack?
No jack = no buy!Same, For me the rules are as follows:
No jack=no buy, no SD card=no buy, has notch=no buy. Combination of any of them= ABSULUTELY no buy

A S9(5.8/64GB) here costs about 2800 ₪(894$ before taxes) or 3250 after (945$)
The XZ2 costs 3600₪ (1050$ in current convertion rates) so the case is not always true to all locations)

For example lab test in gsm arena shows S8 and Mate 10 Pro about the same endurance. But in reality, S8 not even last 1 day, while Mate 10 Pro can survive easily 1.5 day. Proof? Go to Mate 10 Pro user review, most of them are ex S8 / Note series phone, the difference is real. Maybe its due to bad UI system management.

T... moreThe pricing Xperia XZ2 vs Galaxy S9 are not same country by country it depend. Sony Xperia XZ2 are significant cheaper than Samsung Galaxy S9 here in Sweden as a example. And Sony include a pair of wireless headphones during the preorder period to.
The price difference to the larger Galaxy S9+ is even bigger of course.
I suppose the situation might be different in the US market, where Sony dont have carrier partners.
When XZ2 launched, i'm very dissapointed as they use the same 19mp Motion Eye camera. However after look at the results and how they perform well in low lights pics, its pretty impressive actually. Finally they update the bionz camera algorithm in a good way, its surprising because even without OIS the results in low lights was on par with OIS phone and sometimes better. The only thing now its design, I dont like it, hope they can use Xperia XA 1st gen design with less bezels of course. Finger crossed maybe will come back using Sony.
[deleted post]And I pity u that u are one of the people I said about regarding relying on the battery endurance rating, because looking at this battery endurance rating and your own battery life from day to day is two different things...just because it scored lower doesn't mean it have a bad battery life, how immature...

T... moreTripod isn't that necessary, just support your smartphone on a bench arm or wall and u can take photos of the landscape u are taking, just try not to shake too much during low-light, I'll definitely go for Manual Mode no matter what in low-light. There is no doubt the GALAXY S9 is better in terms of price, especially for those who are complaining because of spending those few hundreds buying other accessories and stuff, lol. I wouldn't mind getting both instead of getting the XPERIA XZ2 only...

Where do you read that those are handheld shots? They have to be consistent and remove the camera shake caused by unsteady hands.

Cassy O, 14 Mar 2018Meh, the Galaxy S9 is much better. At least both Galaxy and Sony have dignity, opting to go with their original looks rather than getting a notch... smh
AnonD-743635, 14 Mar 2018You forgot to buy the fast charger too ( oh Sony, it's a expensive phone, don't be so miserly... morePay 800 euros for phone and then buy a tripod, fast charger and adapter for jack earbuds.
This 800 euros soon becomes approx 900 euros…hahaha
Also you must carry the tripod, and adapter for jack earbuds.
How ridiculous is Sony ? Plus NO International warranty with Sony phones.
Its a no brainer. Buy a Samsung Galaxy S9. Don’t need a tripod or adapter for jack earbuds. Fast charger is included
Pros outweigh the Cons, aside from the superficial flaws, the real downside for me would be that they removed the jack, but at least it comes with a dongle on hand, annoying that you have to attach it every time you listen to music, you'd have to strap the headphone and dongle together...
Performance for the device is pretty positive, faster processor, longer battery life... but definitely not a phone for a selfie-persons.
Danny, 14 Mar 2018I mean damn.
The design is unique and interesting...not super into it though
But the camera... moreHahaha Samsung hater pretending as fans detected.
Honestly Sony think thmselves Apple now....?
They sell quickcharge separetely LOL
Still king of bezel 2018 tho
As a hardcore SONY fanboy (not just SONY's phone) I'm a bit sad for 3.5mm removal. BTW I'm not going to complain before trying and knowing what DAC chip and amp inside that USB adapter.
Hope it's not f*cking qualcomm.
I don't find any smartphone "beautiful" per say but Damn this thing is ugly!
I mean damn.
The design is unique and interesting...not super into it though
But the camera and the new Snapdragon chipset may have just taken me back from Samsung and back to the Sony.
I am extremely excited for what Sony brings up next with the dual cameras.
Something that people here who don't know should come up to their senses now, in the battery section they said, "Still, like we've repeatedly said in the past, it's not about the amperes, but rather how well you make use of them" and I agree to this, well said, this is what I always say to those relying on the battery test. The battery test is a basically of course, a battery test, but the types of test they put in it is DIFFERENT from our real day to day routine of using a smartphone, looking at the test just show a rough idea on how the battery of the smartphone will perform if it were in that case scenario. But, still some people just cannot understand this fact. Like the GALAXY S9, seen some people complain why it scored lower than the GALAXY S8, and said the battery is crappy, how immature. Does that few hours show what u will get in real life day to day usage battery life? A worse battery life in the GALAXY S9 compared to the GALAXY S8? If that is what u think, please, wake up. U can get a good or bad battery life on ANY smartphone, because u are the one who decides how u will make use of the smartphone's battery...
