Also, have to share this beauty.
Interpolated to 60fps, but 4k HDR video from XZ2:
Anonymous, 02 Apr 2018Nice balanced review. Pretty much said what I said earlier regarding low-light photos: S9 is b... moreBecause some user can handheld the device very stable and than better photo in low light, not everyone love too much image processing that lost the details and come with weird color that painting by so call high-grade algorithm.
Nick, 04 Apr 2018Calling the omission of basic features for high-end smartphone camera such as bright lens and ... moreI am sorry Nick, but you got it all wrong with "basic features". Here a compare of XZ2 to wider f1.6 apperture and OIS camera:
Definitely not basic features for a quality camera like XZ2.
Tann Hauser, 04 Apr 2018True.
Manual mode capabilities have never been tested. It would have to be quite thorough and... moreLG is the one that suffers the most, especially with it's V series.
Who would buy one of those top of the line LG phones for the cameras... to use only manual mode? Those tests that insist on using automatic mode are a mockery to the public.
And as Nick and Tann Hauser touched, the Superior Auto should be better explained and investigated.
Modes like that don't only resize the images, they apply a different processing. Failing to recognize this is like getting a Nokia PureView and only use full resolution missing that the standard is the lower resolution.
Nick, 04 Apr 2018That's most likely because the camera on XZ2 doesn't turn down the strength of sharpening in l... moreOne thing that I forgot to say.
I mentioned that the larger aperture makes the image softer right? Well, old Xperias had this problem... "corner softness". That "G Lens" was a scam, IMO. Wasn't good enough to deserve a name, but now miraculously it seems that Sony put a good lens in this XZ2, at least it seems more sharper at the corner compared to the S9.
Jostian007, 04 Apr 2018pity that Sony STILL have this over-processed approach to photo processing, photos still look ... morePost processong is the same of their mirrorless.
Pics of Pixel are artificial. HDR when not necessary ( too much light) makes photos look fake.
Good job sony, but i still waiting for xz2 premium , i need a real camera phone
This is just opinion from GSMArena. In many review, XZ2 wins in mayor aspect. Regarding to more noise In XZ2, that is still under acceptable by human eye capability.
I personality prefer like XZ2, on bright light and low light where XZ2 shot is more detail and more real colour.
Good job Sony! You nailed it this time.... Now, I dont mind buying a Sony flagship with the camera on par with other brand flagship..... However, you have another homework for next year, even though they are greatly reduced this year compare with other flagship they are still huge, bottom and upper bezels....
Jostian007, 04 Apr 2018pity that Sony STILL have this over-processed approach to photo processing, photos still look ... moreYour post just seems really informed.
Yes the Sony processing is still not the best, but definitely not that bad anymore.
And googles processing relies in heavy sharpening with big contrast boosts to look more appealing.
Samsung are the ones that went for natural this year.
Even Sony went for more natural look than Google.
But they to include ois, bump the aperture, and still improve the software some. Not as much now though. But that's all mainly for quality. Not realistic or over blown
pity that Sony STILL have this over-processed approach to photo processing, photos still look like water colour paintings... Sony really need to take a leaf from Google's processing, which has natural looking results. REALLY sad to see SONY still pushing their horrid processing, when people have been moaning about it for years now!
[deleted post]Your every post was same like always from Sami fans - "is better! because? because!
The Sony Camera is much better,in everything.
Sorry fanboys but that's how it is.
[deleted post]Everythig that I wroted in that post was facts not opinion: performance is a fact (every tests prove that) more and fastest updates form Sony is a fact (if U had Sony phone U will know) preordered bonus is a big fact. Same looking S8 and S9 is also a fact
Or no? :))

This Guy just go for walk in not so good weather and evening and takes simple and normal shots - this is real test.
Peoples make amazing "sunny" shots and comparing them, is not the point, the point is take normal or hard circumstances pictures and show them.
Both devices takes similar photos, one time is better S9 and one time XZ2, theres no so much differences between them but its Samsung who put "all money" to new (reimagined) camera marketing, so... I waited many years form S7 to see and buy something fresh, after S8 and now S8 I say pass to Sami. And take XZ2 at least they try to do something new (like with design) and with a "half" or less marketing they bring similar product to rivals. And still, better performance, updates, system optimalisation than Sami. And one more thing? What do U get (bonus) when U preordered S9? And what bonus gives Sony for preordered XZ2? U got now many pros to choice Sony not Sami this year.
[deleted post]On majority of reviews yes the s9 is superior. You can't just find one review that contradicts the others to give the view you want and call that one the only real one
Pretty useless shootout if in conclusion you cannot even name the winner - c'mon man-up and decide for f*** sake. And I appreciate and seen shootouts where the samples were it was literally hard to tell from the samples which device is better - not this time around though. It is enough of that political correctness and being afraid to "hurt" Sony fans again - I don't know what you are talking about but in any comparison Samsung samples are miles ahead to the level where it is almost non-comparable. I do understand that on screen and without zoom it is hard to tell the difference, but when zoomed it it is obvious that Samsung has much cleaner pictures, better in both good and low light, better in HDR, better on video. If you own samples is anything to go by Samsung wins hands down. You might pick on over-saturated screen - that is fine, but pictures are clearly superior quality.
