Super Amoled should be efficient during video playback , whereas LCD should have an edge during web browsing ..
Then there is sd 660 which is not based on stock arm cores but instead uses semi custom Kyro cores has a better modem and other things .. So hard to make direct comparison .. What changes were made to the core.. My guess is efficiency gains have been utilized to get more performance out of gpu instead of cpu..
Rn5 pro has a 5.5 inch screen with slightly bigger battery and 7 plus has 6 inches , so I think power consumption of both would be rougly similar .. Then there are other things like software which in case of redmi note 3 if you check gsmarena mentions that it had a power saver mode that was always on .. So that can affect results as well.. We can only get a rough idea with so many variables and without somebody doing proper testing
But I don't think there is anything wrong with Nokia 7 plus , oppo r15 pro also have similar battery life if you take account into differences

I tend to exclude the screen type factor because OLED is not always more efficient, but depending on the contents. OLED is more efficient when it displays largely black color, while LCD is more efficient when it displays largely white color. So, I just put more emphasis on the screen size and screen resolution. That's just me though. Cmiiw
I know the SD650 only has two big A72 cores and four (not six) small A53 cores. It also runs them at lower maximum speed, compared with SD660. The GPU parts are different as you just mentioned.
But here's a question: when doing web browsing or video playback routine (those screen on tests), do these chipsets actually run at maximum clock speed most of the time?
Since the higher the clock speed the higher the power draw, I can imagine the SD660 draws lotsa power when running at maximum. Otherwise, when running at the same speed that is just moderate, the newer smaller process node chip should have the advantage, thus drawing less power.
And lest we forget, 28 nm to 14 nm is a pretty big jump, skipping the 20 nm.
Anyway, there are other factors that may come into play here that we haven't touched upon.
However I can't be sure without AnandTech's level of in-depth tests.
At the end of the day, according to GSMArena test, I take the Nokia's score as just good but it could have been better optimized. It got beaten by RN3 with SD650 and A9 (2016) with SD652 even more.

If you are lucky even an unprotected phone will survive, but relying on that is a bad idea. On the other hand, if you have a protected phone you don't have to care anymore. You even can use your phone in the rain, taking photos and videos.
I've been using waterproof phones since 2014 and that's the best feature added to smartphones in the last five years. The only time I made a mistake of buying a non-waterproof phone it lasted less than an year before dying a predictable death under a tropical downpour.
As for the size, Nokia lacks a small/medium phone in its middle-end or high-end range. They already have a large lower-middle-end phone (Nokia 6), it would make much more sense to make Nokia 7 closer to S8/S9 in size, if not to Sony's Compact series.
The battery on this phone is below expectations, but could fixed with a software update, which this phone will get for at least 3 years

It's a general knowledge that everyone should know . Let us say that you have a company and you made a phone with features like Galaxy S9 with SD450 SoC. You can declare it as "flagship" of your own company but in general public you just released a low-end phone. It will be significantly slower than a competition that has a SD845 flagship SoC.

Look at the NOW perspective and NOT the PAST. The OP5 and Mi6 were old flagships and has gone down in price. Mi6's price in the market is now in the new 2018 midrange territory while the OP5 has gone down a bit but much higher than the Mi6. Now Nokia 7 Plus' price is higher than Mi6 but just a bit lower than the OP5. It's place (in terms of price) is between two flagships that have SD835, 6GB RAM and UFS storages while only having the midrange 660 (SoC) and (probably) only having an EMMC storage. It's not that hard to compare these three especially using GSMArena's compare tool. I don't see this Nokia 7 Plus selling in the places where Huawei, Oneplus, and Xiaomi were present. It's only chance is when these 3 were totally absent or when the shipping tax were very bloated.

My friend, your reasoning is imaginary and impractical. Meanwhile you forget about rains. Having IP54/67 will certainly eliminates any concern on using a phone under rain. As I said before, it is an absolute must unless you don't leave a building. A phone constantly used outdoors will need the most durability features it can have, one of them is IP54/67.
