The camera part is so disappointing, I currently own a mix 2 ... moreIt's not hardware failure, since others (in XDA) have already experimented recording the audio separately from the video and everything was fine when doing it that way. It is worrisome that the same issue has been carried across generations of the device... not a good prospect for getting this fixed in either Mix 2 or 2S.
As for the camera, I don't quite agree. Pricing is of the essence, in order to be priced as aggressively as it is there *must* be some compromise to be made. I think the camera in the 2S is already great for the price-point (it just doesn't compete with the ones which are nearly double the cost). I do agree with you regarding the original Mix 2 camera, I'd go as far as saying that even Xiaomi agrees... as its the first time they released a revised version of their Mix series, only to include that better camera (and updated SoC, given that would be an unforgivable omission if they didn't).

First no removable battery, then no microsd, no audio jack, no fm radio and so on. Shame, phones more and more expensive and less features than an old Galaxy S4

Well, this could have been a perfect phone for me to replace my Note 4 that has suddenly died with all the data, but without the 3.5 mm jack is useless as I like to listen to the music with my hi-fi headphones. So I bought Huawei mate 10 instead. Shame on you Xiaomi for ditching the so much needed feature!!!

Why did they have to ruin the design by making the camera exactly like the iPhone X? I mean 200/less than 200 dollar phones are alright, but this is a flagship. It's lost its designed by xiaomi.. no longer original.. the 2's back was way better

The camera part is so disappointing, I currently own a mix 2 and I love every part of it except the camera. 2s is not the giant leap I would have hoped to be.
About your audio issue in the videos, I have exactly the same issue on the Mix 2. It sounds heavily compressed like a Skype audio from the early 2000's. It has been there since day one and Xiaomi won't fix this issue. I tried everything with custom roms, Google camera, camera 2 API, etc, no luck. I still doubt it is a hardware failure...
If you are not bothering about camera and video, then go ahead, this phone, MIUI, battery life are excellent. Otherwise, trust the review, you'll be disappointed.

Man, that battery endurance test is very underwhelming. I was disappointed even lower than the Mi Mix 2. Hopefully they can create a good battery life for Mi Mix 3.

Your pros and cons section is become way too short. Before it was better, because you were able to skip the whole review if you just want to have a short look on the main facts of the device. Now it is impossible ... Please change that!

Just came here for camera. Photo number 35... I can see huuuuge flare and much noises. That's not "great". Audio quality is bad and sounds "flat". Xiaomi goes forward but still has to learn.
