Suggestion for Huawei: Learn from Samsung. Stop producing sealed battery flagships with huge 4000mAh batteries. That's the reason why my 2014 Huawei Mate 7 is still very reliable with 6 hrs average screen on time despite being almost 4 years old.
"The average screen on time was between 4 and 5 hours"
Gosh that's bad
My A5 2017 has like twice as much. And Ive paid 175 euros for it ..
Nice flagships, Samsung.
Suggestion for the Samsung S10: Add more cameras, more megapixels, more RAM, a newer processor, some new photo/camera slow-mo/portrait gimmick, etc. but please don't ever increase battery capacity. More cameras, more everything will justify your ever increasing flagship costs while still maintaining the phone's life within a 1-2 year average. After all, small sealed batteries mean deeper discharge levels, more charging cycles, and hence, shorter battery and phone life. Good way to hide your planned obsolescence without looking guilty.
4-5 hrs average on screen time as of June 2018. Released March 2018. That's barely 3 months. One to two years from now, it will be 1-2 hrs average on-screen time. Good job Samsung. Your planned obsolescence is working as scheduled. People will be buying your new model next year if they can't tolerate the drastically reduced battery life.
The build quality and interface of samsung is awesome. The only thing I hate is for every two weeks they release new model, If you buy s9+ today after 2 weeks your mobile become old because of s10+. other wise I like samsung

s9 the disappointment of this year, a low-end 8-bit screen with low resolution, poor autonomy, mid-range performance and a camera that is the most interesting feature of the xperia 2017
I'm glad that the long-term review turn out to be very positive. It's years of hard work, and listening to users' feedbacks. Everything that has been discussed here is true and a reflection of reality when using the device. I own one and I can say that it is an all-rounder; stellar camera in any light condition, very smooth day-to-day performance and gorgeous topnotch (without the notch) display. It's indeed a polished S-flagship to date.
Imperator Neubaticus, 26 Jun 2018Still stuck in the past kid? By all means, stay there. Nobody needs you in the present. No infinite autonomy is the future. It kind of sucked in the past. Present sucks too, it's a bit worse than the past.
In the future you won't have to charge your phone as if it is freaking 1990, you won't have battery anxiety, you wont have button or bezels.
It seems like you are living in the past. It is because of you we still get 3.5mm jacks. Heck we may have had floppies still because of people wanting to model the resent into the past.
If you read my past I was ppsting about *evolution*. Samsung does not evolve. It devolves into the new blackberry... Haha, what a dumpster fire.

Andrei, 25 Jun 2018Well, give it a little more time. First 2 months it was ok. After 6 months with the s8, 2 upda... moreThey did that with S7 after Nougat update, and there was almost no difference in battery life.
Android - Prime, 26 Jun 2018I agree on everything written in this long term review except for one thing, screen resolution... moreMicroLed is LCD tech, no way it raplaces OLED.
Then again we are talking Samsung here, they routinely take steps back...
I agree on everything written in this long term review except for one thing, screen resolution. I mean seriously, can you easily spot the difference between FHD and QHD in 6.1 inches display? Yeah, It's nice to have an option to crank all the way up (heck, certain company take this seriously by implementing 4K resolution in 5.8 inches display), but what's the point of doing that? Making an icing on top of the already sweet cake? More marketing gimmick?
Deal with it, OLED is already in its pinnacle (if you ignore the drawbacks of OLED) and soon to be replaced by microLED. Do you willing to sacrifice the already average battery life of the S9+ and get a slightly better (or meaningless in my dictionary) experience on an already amazing screen?
Just like the iPhone 7 to 8, the S9 is just a minor upgrade to the S8. Basically, you're paying $100 to $200 more a few minor upgrades and a somewhat lower battery life. Unless you're upgrading from an S6 or S7, no reason to upgrade. If you're already on the S8, no reason to upgrade right now, better wait for the S10.
I know this place is full of Sony love, and if they went AMOLED and they sold them in North America Id give them a try, but Ive had nothing but great experience with Samsung phones. The S4 was my favorite phone I ever had, and the S6 still works as a back up phone, after 3 years, as well as it did when it was new. Im a bit confused about the hate (is it because its the biggest Android maker?).
Good grief, that's terrible battery life. Oleds really can't run a full day without a charge like IPS LCD can, or as easily. Just can't touch 8+ hours sot. Rant all you want SS fans, it's simply true.
Samsung: a company that went from basically offering infinite battery (charge a spare while you use, pop it when your main one dies, rinse and repeat) to a company that its flagship barely makes the day. You know the one thing that portables are supposed to do best, autonomy , it is the one that Samsung chose to regress majorly. Genius!
Of course they could also innovate like for example offering a removable back that doubles as both a spare and a wall charger (so you instantly plug your back while you attach your other spare to your phone for insta 100%), all the while a tiny internal battery keeps the lights on while you make the swap. You know *evolution*, evolving your defining characteristic, *not* killing it outright and becoming generic.
But nooo, that would be heresy. No wonder her flagship sales has fallen off a cliff. You can wear a suit to a kangaroo, it would still be a kangaroo and if you happen to turn it into a chief officer, you are in for a ride...
