Never seen a phone this ugly in many years.
Would never buy it.
Layout of the back looks very bad to.
But nice to see they have a very good camera now

Just curiosity and no hating.
They are already shipping the phone. How can the site get pre-unit instead of final one?
Interesting.... Hope Sony finally nails it, been too long waiting for this kind of result in camera department. Software and skin implementation is one of my favorite. Not to mention their swift update second to pixel phones.

Can't wait to see this camera duo on a new Compact.
Josh, 21 Jul 2018Dude are you high on something? or bashing is your way of life?!! Please go through the compar... moreNo, I'm not 'high' on something. I know what is acceptable quality and what is not. Smearing and massive loss of detail is not good quality. And no, I don't evaluate smartphone cameras based on what I see on a small mobile phone screen. To repeat my assessment: Unacceptable quality - smearing/lack of detail evident in the foliage, pavement surface, building walls, parked automobiles: gsmarena _115,116,121 photos. Good/Very good low light photos with sufficient detail: gsmarena - 117, 118. Borderline acceptable (some smearing but not too much) : gsmarena_119. As for videos, sorry, none can be used for tv viewing or film making.

Captures the same amount of details as S9 but overexposed and far noisier, and it cannot compete with others in extreme low-light. P20, however, should be replaced with P20 Pro in the next comparison.
If only Sony has invested a lot in marketing just like Samsung and Oppo has with respect to their devices then this smartphone will sell like hotcakes.
I don't think there will be significant camera updates until the release of the XZ2 Premium as it will be released in less than 9 days.
Dear GSMArena team....
Please, bring U12+ to play with nighty boys. It is clear that S9+ does not belong to this league. Even with OIS and biggest aperture it was easily put to shame.
U12+ has better HDR, better DR, better video skills, better color, better exposition, better zoom and better portraits..
Anonymous, 21 Jul 2018I bet your phone does 1000x worse. Did you expect performance of a videocamera used by TV ... moreActually no. My phone can do it better, not worse. It has manual hi-fi audio controls available for video capture for better audio quality, has manual exposure compensation, manual focus, manual iso, manual shutter speed setting as low as 24fps for that film look and better low light quality, and can even go to as low as 1fps shutter speed to capture more detail in low light and capture video when all the rest produce total darkness. Can your phone do all those?
Anonymous, 22 Jul 2018The new 6.5" iphone will be much heavier. Iphone 8+ is 202g, way more than XZ2 or S9+. Bro it was a compliment, I said it because i love this phone and since everybody seems to be whining about the weight..
AnonD-311835, 22 Jul 2018World heavyweight champion the XZ2 premium! The new 6.5" iphone will be much heavier.
Iphone 8+ is 202g, way more than XZ2 or S9+.
When the XZ2 Premium uses the second camera, the amount of details is very low, it looks like too aggressive noise reduction. Occasionally worse than the XZ2 Compact. I am sceptical that Sony will fix this. And probably still no raw support.
Don't you mind to shut up for a moment, because GSMArena has pretty much made it clear a gazillion times in this article that this phone is running a pre-production software, so why don't we wait for the final product itself before we judge??
Just a phone review of one smartphone and suddenly people became photographers from outta nowhere. LMAO
