Fayth, 09 Aug 2018too bad the cover keypad is not auto spring mechanism like the predecessorThe predecessor didn't have a spring action slider either. It was put on for the Matrix film. It was the 7110 which had a spring loaded slider. The original 8110 was an expensive phone and as this phone is relatively cheap I suppose they could afford the cost.

At first I thought this was a cute gimmick but then I saw it has Whatsapp, Facebook and Youtube. If these feature phone/smart phone hybrids keep improving like this I may replace my Sony Z3c with one. I don't like plus phones and sadly the only company still making regular sized phones is /shudder Apple.

I particularly appreciate reading indepth about KaiOS.
I still feel S40 is the better OS at this stage, but that'll just come down to personal preference. KaiOS certainly has a lot more features, but it sounds a bit unpolished.

The most FATAL thing of this junk: The old s40 Java, Symbian, even Meego can sideload apps, while this one can't.
If u want to have feature phone as backup phone, u better get a 2nd hand Nokia Xpress Music or the Communicator series if u can't live without sophisticated OS.
Like 3310 reborn, the ONLY SELLING POINT of this phone is NOSTALGIA, nothing else.
If u think I'm wrong, tell us a feature that this junk have that $100 Chinese Android phone doesn't!
I own a lot of sub $100 Android phone, and I assure u, nothing beats Android phone as a backup phone in sub $100, especially in battery (removable) and MicroSD slot availability.

Would like to use this kind of phone instead of smartphone, but as I use phone as camera also then poor picture quality is reason I would not switch to this phone. I dont care display quality as photos you actually look in other devices, but camera should be good.

I recently purchased through amazon,
Lot of lagging points are there
I have imported the gmail contacts, when I try open the contacts, it takes more time to launch contacts, and you need to wait for some more time for enabling search option.
I have purchased this phone only because of large phone book option,
Also it doesn't have auto sync option for phone book, every time you have to important the contacts newly from gmail.

no need to be emotional about legacy reboots its just waste and impractical. Nokia failed to catch up with vivo's, oppo's, xiaomi's in the smartphone race now they are into casio's calculator race.. nokia why? get on your shoes that fits you well.

Where the original 8110 was a high quality (and desirable phone) this 2018 model just looks like cheap plastic crap. Sorry but this 'thing' is not worthy having the Nokia brand on it. Sad.

(Put a piece of plastic between the battery and the phone, so the battery will last for many many months)
OR as a phone to use during travels in a 'dubious' area with a high risk of robbery - limited loss versus your $1000+ phablet...
Remember that it even got GPS, so a rather well equipped feature phone....
...But I certainly agree that it is not going to do the job a daily driver for a demanding using.
