The problem isn't MIUI. Its a lack of LTE support. Why Ami going to buy a phone that won't work anywhere outside of India China and a hand full of other markets? They continue to support CDMA which is old tech and not support a broad spectrum of LTE bands like Google Apple and Samsung. I just don't understand how a Chinese company can't copy what others are doing. Thats supposed to be the one thing they ate good at.

Unfortunately, I don't think those Mi A2 had been released before the 9.0 for nothing...

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2018Sadly I have not witnessed the mi A1 get updates as soon as google makes them available. I sus... moreright, but 1st of all it doesn't happen on custom ROMs and 2ndly with a full treble enabled Mi A2 it should be possible to use any GSI, even without kernel source released. at least I hope so in prospect of receiving my Mi A2 soon.

I have one of these on order for a friend and I was thrilled by this review, and gsmarena is the gold standard review site. Whew. I'm happy.

Sadly I have not witnessed the mi A1 get updates as soon as google makes them available. I suspect the mi A2 will not be any different, but hope I’m wrong. Android pie should have been rolled out by now. Also the mi A2 has the same proximity sensor issue like the mi A1 had. Too sensitive and while conversation, the quick toggles get pressed. Don’t know how this is on the lite version though.

Woaw. Agree with it or not, it is actually a decent phone. And the price will drop in a month or so.

Cannot justify buying this when for fraction more (CNY 999 vs 949) you could get Redmi Note 5 which is better in every way (it was even the same price at the beginning). Just another excuse to clear out excess SD625 stock, with ridiculous notch to boot.

You didn't mention that the led notification light is multi colored or just white!
You gsmarena should mention that coz some xiaomi phone only have single color led notification now.

Anonymous, 15 Aug 2018Is the display usable with polarised glasses? I heard in a video that you just get black scree... moreOn the Italian MIUI forum, a semi-official review of Mi A2 Lite said that the screen is correctly polarized, so you won't have any problem watching the screen with polarized sunglasses.
But maybe it depends on the screen manufacturer: the same phone model could ships with different LCD panels, as seen on other phone models too (e.g. Redmi Note 4).
