It's simply a wonderful phone. It does everything I need to and that's saying a lot for a soon 5 Yr old phone! I recently changed the battery and replaced the screen and it feels brand new.
Has been a great phone. Only hardware change through 4+ years of service is that the battery fade is now (understandably)becoming noticable. Rock solid handset even now, and I am only retiring it because OnePlus has discontinued support for this model, meaning it will become increasingly outdated (no more OS updates) and more vulnerable (no more security updates).

I'm using it since launching May 2018.. Never disappointed me except for battery which is going crazy inconsistent but I think I found a service center in our desert to replace it.
I've been using it as secondary phone lately, but it win against most competitors from Samsung, Xiaomi, Honor, Huawei, iPhone 7 plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 11, etc.
The operation system and the interface are amazing and pretty much reliable even after they stopped the update.
I think I will continue using it for a while

I have been using oneplus 6 since 4.4 years now. There is no lag, battery efficiency has reduced a bit. And the charging port has started showing some issues while dash charging. Even today it competes with latest phones very well. Works very well with oneplus watch and earbuds. The experience I got with oneplus old flagship phones like 3t, 5t and 6. I wanted to upgrade to new oneplus phone available in the market. But I have noticed many issues with new models like the absence of an alert slider, plastic frame, merging colour OS etc. So I have finally decided to upgrade my complete ecosystem to IOS. By doing these kinds of things oneplus is losing its loyal user base like me.

Anon, 17 Jun 2022Update from June 2022. Phone bought ~August 2018 (glossy black). - Old battery was depletin... moreSame here, just replaced the battery for a new one. With old 4y.o. one it took about 2-3 hours of it to run out of power if listing to podcasts on certain apps or hotspot sharing or video/social media watching.
Update from June 2022. Phone bought ~August 2018 (glossy black).
- Old battery was depleting around 10 hours of medium usage. Had to buy and replace with a new one, along with the back cover (original back cover from oneplus, from the red version of the phone). overall cost me about 25 EUR including shipping from China.
- With the new battery, easily runs about a day with the same usage + sleep. Phone is very responsive for my needs (calls, texting, Teams, photography, Youtube etc.). I don't game on my phone.
- Shiny red back cover with black bezel looks rad.
Since the official updates have stopped, I'll root the phone to stock Android. I'm hoping to use this phone as long as I can, still very happy with it.
I purchased the phone in Aug 2018, still the phone is running smoothly, long battery backup, fast charging, superp camera, fast working, latest os android 11 update, everything is up to date to the compare of new phone. Salute to makers
No issues with the phone but a concern is 11 update
It still runs smoothly

Purchased June 2018 and it's going good so far. The only concern I have is that it's not still 3 years to my phone but I have not received android 11 update on this. Wonder if they have stopped rolling out updates for this one. Looks like they are 'Finally Settled'
I got the red 128gb when it has launched. It has been an excellent phone over the years until it suddenly decided to shut it self down when I'm playing games like pubg mobile or wild rift. At first I didn't suspect much until it happened more frequently after couple weeks, if the phone gets warm because is running some application it will shut down and if I restarted it will shutdown either instantly or after an minute or so. I had to leave it to cool down before booting up again. I have tried factory reset but issue is not solved. Prob some damage in the battery? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I dont care about fast charging. I'm fine super slow charging my phone every night instead but it must be able to function all day. Oneplus 6 does not.
Purchased in August, 2018 256GB Variant. Lives up to expectation till date. Never face any issues of struck, restart or slow.
Purchased on 22May 2018 posting from the same phone at the end of 2020 and expecting it to last another year without trouble.
Played pubg on this like 7 hrs a day and still no sign of slowness...love this beast.
As heard new op8 have bad camera than OP6. Op should improve their front camera.
