There is BIG difference in low light photography between P20 Pro and all other phones. I don't care that sensor is bigger. For me the final result is most important. No matter CPU power, the results speak for them self.

In India,64 GB xs max is around $1550.But Samsung Note 9 is just $925. Also those pre order received Galaxy Gear sport watch in India.my question is it worth to pay $625 more for apple product than Samsung.in my opinion Apple iPhone xs max good product but huge over priced.

Yann, 26 Sep 2018@gsmarena: Why you compare iPhone with Pixel in low light photos, when P20 Pro is the best pho... moreP20 Pro still performs great in daylight, but it simply cannot match the significantly faster CPU + ISP as well as more mature software processing of iPhone XS so it'll end up losing in most situations as long as the scenes are well lit. In low light P20 Pro excels thanks to the large sensor, but honestly gaps are closing in now and many phones are doing great at night even with smaller sensors. Besides, P20 Pro is technically 0.5 generation behind this new iPhone so it would be much fairer to compare it to Mate 20 Pro which is expected to arrive within a few weeks.
Pixel's camera is also much closer to iPhone XS' because of similar processing style and exactly the same sensor + lens setup, hence more suitable for the comparison.

Geric.770, 26 Sep 2018Well, let them buy what they want. It's not our money. It's their money. ;)But still, the iPHONE XS is a great smartphone by all means, even though it is pricier than most high-end flagships out there. The software isn't a pain in the ass already, the problem lies in the price, they've opted for a slow charger and removed the 3.5mm headphone jack adapter. Yes, they are indeed luxurious, but they decided to skimp on accessories in the box, which made me doubt if it's worth the price. First they removed the essentials from their phones, then they skimp on accessories. Comparing to other brands that kept the essentials with more accessories, it's priced a little too high. Okay, camera's better on the Apple, but not by a big margin, even if their cost of sales is high the selling price is a little too high. I suggest Apple to lower the prices, and add a manual mode in the camera, it's most probably one of the features I really hope Apple can add in their camera app in iOS

Yes iPhones top the performance charts.
However, how much of that is up to the OS, and how much is the chipset, we can't know.
It will most likely mean the best gaming experience though, unless there is throttling or benchmark cheats involved.
On typical usage, transition effects, and RAM buffering, and prediction of user behaviour, could actually effect the speed in such a way that the best benching chip+OS might not feel the fastest to use.

Apple may or may not have the best chipsets.
                      We don't know.
What they do have are chart topping phones that can't be denied.

Whereas, iPhone has gone the pixel way. Using image stacking and software algorithms to achieve great low-light shots. Hence, the comparison with pixel.

It's sad. They were great devices designed for everyone. Now they are getting to the point where anyone with at least half a brain won't get one because it's simply bad economics.

I doubt this is where Steve Jobs intended the device/brand to go but here it is... a fashion XS-ary for the dim-witted and wealthy. They're not a people's device anymore.. and it's hard to recommend one when you have other companies such as LG pumping out such high quality handsets at a fraction of the price.

GSM Arena's review score should better reflect the cost of the handset, considering the average desired configuration sets the customer back 2-3 times as much as an average Android handset, capable of fulfilling every users needs, would. Come on GSM Arena.. dat price doe!

Do you want to say that iPhone is only made for that class? and you yourself admitting that iPhone is over priced :)

Smartphone is technology product and it is something that we use at least 10 hrs a day. Now smartphones is became daily need for everyone in this world. You admit or not but when anyone is purchasing their daily need product they check for price/performance and durability.

Here we are talking in general not for some short of millionaire, and those people do not have time to debt and write comments on websites like we are doing. So, we are not millionaire and we do check price/performance, durability and maintenance cost.

S Yu, 26 Sep 2018We need another shootout, I can tell that Smart HDR definitely helps detail but not much else. Not to be rude, but I definitely suggest you to try it out yourself. Go to camera settings and turn off the toggle for "Smart HDR", this will show the HDR toggle in the camera viewfinder. When you switch on and off HDR, you will see a large difference in dynamic range especially around light sources, which often gets completely blown off when HDR is off but recovered when it's on.

Will u be kind enough GSMArena to enable SCROLLING in the 'display test' chart? If it's possible in 'loudness test' and 'audio quality' charts, then why not in the 'display test' chart?

A $16 000 Hermes handbag is not 80 times better than a $200 one, right?

Duel, 26 Sep 2018"5 Actually any flagship smartphones I'm saying any damn flagship smartphone should not be pri... moreI'm running my own company and I'm application developer so I better know what I'm saying. "I'm not fan of any company, cause they are company and they are in market to make profit. But I'm so frustrated that how people are loosing their mind and welcomes companies like Apple and Samsung to looting themselves" is my concern.

And don't tell me how much money they are putting behind development, if their production + marketing cost is so much as you people said then Apple won't be the highest profitable company with 12% of market share.

And people complaining legging in android phones they must be comparing entry level phones, compare with android flagships and see the truth your self.

Future is near, you can't be fooling people all the times and for decades. Good days were gone with Steave Job, Apple is eating sweet fruits today just because of him. Not because they are now inventing new things or their product is too good to purchase at $1300+

In sweet and short their phones are overpriced and over hyped.
