Galaxy Note 9, 02 Oct 2018Really, but why? Or, just an opinion? Why would someone expect customers to pay exponential pr... morefirst of all, people pay this kinda of products just to get those 10% better experience, because they can.
second, because usually is the high end products that pays research and inovation.
having 5% margins wont let you go far if all your products have that percentage.
third, people that CAN pay this kinda of products are used to them, it's hard to go back.
four, 40.000 speakers to people that make that money a day is not a big deal, so why go for a 4k speakers?
rest of us the 98%, there are some that cries about it, and others who want's to join the 2% and do something about it. who are you?

androfox, 02 Oct 2018I have once spent 1500€ on a laptop. It was made by apple. Why did I do pay 1500€? People told... moreThat's because price and quality don't have a linear increase. Once you reach a certain point, the price doubles for say a 10% increase in performance and other features.
Above this threshold, the price again doubles, for another 5% increase in performance and features.
So you would end up paying 4x the price for only a 15% increase in performance and features. That's how premium, top-of-the-line products are made and that's the price one needs to pay for that.
A pair of high fidelity speakers totaling $40.000 is not going to be 10x better or 10x louder than a $4.000 pair of speakers.
A $20.000 professional digital camera is not 10x better than a $2.000 DSLR.
Past a certain point, every 1% increase in performance will increase the price exponentially.
Here is what are gonna happen:
Apple will never acknowledge iPhone's issues.
Apple sheeps will still buy iPhones
Average consumers who don't have any idea about techs but can afford iphone will still buy iphones.
Android fans and crybabies will keep commenting that iphone sucks on every iphone related article and videos.
I will keep enjoying both iOS and Android (iphone x and one plus 5t)
Life will go on...
Anonymous, 02 Oct 2018GSM arena should be called GSM Apple..... I mean it´s crazy, they simply justify any fau... moreI don't see bias towards the iPhone at all from GSM Arena. In the conclusions they rightfully said no matter what cons they could say about the iPhone (sure it has a few), lots of people are already buying it. That's the Apple trend and is something not even the most Anti Apple site could avoid.
Btw, the last paragraph left me thinking and that's the main reason I don't support Apple: their outlandish prices are driving the whole market out of price.
I've been a regular reader of gsmarena since 2001 and an avid Samsung user . One thing I've noticed clearly is that the battery testing has flaws. The overall endurance of iPhones have always been lower than Samsung flagships in gsmarena's testings .But in real world usage the iPhones provided better batterylife than Samsung flagships -- Well, most of them. Same holds true to OnePlus and few Phones from Sony in comparison, where these phones lose to Samsung, but in real life usage they win over Samsung.
GSM arena should be called GSM Apple..... I mean it´s crazy, they simply justify any fault with the price to pay...
Yes it´s a great product, but not without it´s faults. These days a good Android it´s perfectly capable and for much less....
The reason for choosing an iphone is: If you love the OS and the design. That´s it
Anonymous, 02 Oct 2018some of the negative comments are valid if we must be honest. Sure apple made decent phone wit... moreThe thing is you pay premium price for a premium service. Imagine having an issue with an android phone and bringing it to a service center. It would take weeks to fix.
Whackcar, 02 Oct 2018The difference between Marques (MKBHD) and Lewis (UnboxTheraphy) is that Marques is a paid App... moreIts funny that people thinks MKBHD is being paid by Apple, but is actually paid by Google.
Moto Master, 02 Oct 2018>>Recycled design and still the most innovativeFunny coz Note 9 is a recycled Note 8 too but they charge more. Same camera, same display, no Android Pie. QC 2.0 on 2018,Lol
androfox, 02 Oct 2018I have once spent 1500€ on a laptop. It was made by apple. Why did I do pay 1500€? People told... moreI have recently bought two laptops. 1. HP Spectre x360 15 inch 4K display, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, i7 8th Gen processor for $1450 2. Lenova Flex 5 (refurb) 15 inch 4K display, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, 128 GB SSD, i7 8th Gen processor for $950
Together I nearly spent $2300.
In my place ONE iPhone XS MAX 512 GB is sold for nearly $2200! That's just for comparison
I have once spent 1500€ on a laptop. It was made by apple. Why did I do pay 1500€? People told me it was "the best", and truly, it was a good laptop, but it wasnt the best, average at best. Same goes for the iphone. I would never buy one (the macbook experience was too hard) - since people claim you get "the best" but what you get is only average *hold it* considering the price tag. What people get spending 1500€+ is maybe better, but not thrice as good as 400€ phones offer today. Why do people buy apple still? Peopl got too much money and no other problems to care about.
The screen is awesome. Samsung's AMOLED displays are definitely the best out there. Battery is life is decent, but not great. The performance in the other hand is superb, as expected. It blows everything else away! What a true beast! The 2019 Android flagship chipsets better up their game.
The camera is good, but I don't see it on par with the best of Android cameras. And finally, stereo audio recording, after years of neglect. Well, better late than never.
Apple has never been generous in terms of features, but removing the 3.5 mm jack is still a deal-breaker, even two after it was dropped from the iPhone 7. See, even the reviewers can't conduct their audio quality test because of it. And the less said about the price, the better.
My friend bought iPhone X. After 3 months he wants to try S9+ becuase of the features but when he starting using the S9+. He is seriously wanted to go back to iPhone X since day 1. After 3 months he sold his S9+ and bought iPhone X again. And then he promises to himself not to buy samsung/android phones again. Soon we will upgrade to XS Max whatever happens. According to him, face ID is more reliable and faster than Iris Scanner/Facescan. Sometimes the iris scanner is not working properly when he dont put out his eyeglasses. Not using fingerprints (sweaty hands).
Its not always the name of the phone but the things the phone can do. Apps is very important too. Many important apps that is not availble in Android.
Darshada, 02 Oct 2018Yeah, I guess you know the guys personally to say that...
Like DxO is paid by every tech comp... more"But any problem is unacceptable, even for a 700+ phone. But at least it doesn't explode or sells your datas, which is more of a problem."
>Any< problem is unacceptable. Your words. Not others. Rendered your own rest of that line irrelevant. Contradictory here is an understatement.
When it becomes "acceptable" just because Apple usually fix flaws in days, then there is no incentive for them to improve QA. Even if they're charging the highest RRP ceiling in the industry?
Yeah unacceptable.. then acceptable? /lel
I'm honestly impressed with iPhone's new camera and its Smart HDR processing. In most daylight scenario I ended up choosing the samples from iPhone XS over those from Note 9. In lower lighting conditions, I feel like the result is rather mixed. There were scenes where iPhone managed to capture sharper details than both Note 9 and P20 Pro, but as it gets darker those two were quite a bit better. P20 Pro's significantly larger sensor and (ironically)oversharpening is actually helping a lot in those darker situations, and while Note 9 has similar smearing issue as iPhone XS, it seems that more advanced frame stacking algorithm is managing to retain details better than iPhone.
I think the perfect smartphone camera would be the combination of P20 Pro's hardware with iPhone's software algorithm in good lighting and Note's in low light. It would be so great if it came true!
>>Recycled design
and still the most innovative
Whackcar, 02 Oct 2018The difference between Marques (MKBHD) and Lewis (UnboxTheraphy) is that Marques is a paid App... moreiPhone X, XS,XS Max are no more just $1000 + mobiles, they are infact $1300 - $2200 plus accessories, Apple Care, subscriptions etc....that's ransom for most
Anonymous, 02 Oct 2018some of the negative comments are valid if we must be honest. Sure apple made decent phone wit... moreHonestly why do u care so much to write a long reply when it doesn't affect your life at all? Ur not going to buying it so why do u care? I don't really own any pets and I don't intend to but I don't go on websites getting angry Bcuz the price to buy kittens has gone up :D
Anyway back to phones, these battery and beauty things are minor issues which would be rectified. Almost every device when released will have some minor issues which then gets fixed. Every brand has this to deal with whether it's ssung or Google pixel devices or any other. People still buy these devices at high prices when having to suffer until an update is released too. Are u saying nobody should buy devices which have some software issues which can be fixed pretty quickly? Then nobody should buy Samsung or Google pixel or lg or any other device if that's what ur saying. These small issues on iphones will quickly get fixed in a matter of days.
Also in the review alot of good things are mentioned too and once the errors are quickly fixed then everyone with this device will be happy just like the review states.
They should continue their iphone 8/8+ design. But smaller the chin and benzel. I love their classic iphone looks
