Jase PM, 04 Oct 2018You obviously never owned a V30 as the battery life is excellent. You obviously are forgetting that the V35 has the same chipset as the V40, smaller display and weaker resolution yet didn't do so hot in the battery department.

LG is the walking proof of the definition of insanity...

If there'll be no other models that will be coming up without a notch to replace my Mate 10, then my eyes will be on this or Mate 20. -,-

Nice phone, but few problems that will stop some users:
      - Notch
      - Battery could have been at least 10-15% bigger
      - Higher starting price. It is simply too much. For these money many people would choose Samsung or Apple.
      - Android 8 in a flagship that launches in Q4'18.
      - In addition, many LG users report that updates on their phones make them significantly slower, battery life decreases and so on.

Display Mate!!!!!! , 04 Oct 2018Nothing about the OLED display You mean nothing about the notification LED, IR-blaster,...

They're loosing it. ignoring the more important stuff and adding unnecessary gimmicks. WTH would I need 2 front camera's with minor differences? And then there's that normal camera WITH OIS but the telephoto-camera WITHOUT OIS? Telephoto systems are much more prone to handshake, everyone knows that (except those idiots at LG obviously)!

At least they kept the headphone jack with a decent audio-DAC. Otherwise this would be a total disaster.

viktor, 04 Oct 2018How stupid can you be LG! Again you just ignore battery life, the basic but most desirable nee... moreIt can be four things:
-large capacity + great optimization = high endurance
-small capacity + great optimization = average endurance
-large capacity + weak optimization = average endurance
-small capacity + weak optimization = low endurance

Most of the OEMs are either the second or third, and the first is just very rare. If anything, the first one are probably only found in some mid rangers and most budget phones, and almost no flagship has the first one.
And sadly, LG is the fourth option in pretty much all of their devices. Their battery-oriented devices only match up the average battery life phones like the iPhone Xs Max.

Of course they can improve the camera through software updates, but I think the easiest way to fix it is to drop the price. This phone is not competitive at all at $900-$980 price range, especially not unlocked.

Will wait for V40S. My V30S has more storage then this which is ridiculous.

My honor 8 pro is my best phone so far. The 4000mah really makes a difference. Why the "top" manufacturers keep insisting with crappy batteries and not listening to what people need is beyond compreension.

Awesome phone. Well worthy heir to the great V-series and a worthy challenger to the excellent Note9. ThanQ, LG!

Only downside would be the notch. At least it is one of the less intrusive ones.

                            3.5 mm headphone jack.
                            microSD card slot.
                            FM Radio too.
IP68 ingress protection and MIL-STD-810G compliant.
Great 6.4 inch QHD+ OLED display.
Great design (low-bezel front and arrangement of triple cam in the back).
Dual Pixel Autofocus, 1.4 um pixel size and F1.5 aperture main camera.
Superb and useful triple camera combination of extra wide angle and telephoto.
Boombox speaker (could have been stereo though).

Hopefully the battery life is similar to that of the great LG V30 and it's 3300 mAh battery.

How stupid can you be LG! Again you just ignore battery life, the basic but most desirable need today for most comsumers today, who are increasing mobile phone usage in tandem with new improved features!
3300 mAh! For larger screen size! Serious, how stupid can you be! Huawai is stealing market share because they know what consumers want - battery life! 4000 mAh, how awesome is that.
