Maria, 24 Oct 2018iPhone XR, does R mean " Reduced" ?Apple stated that the S & R does not stand for anything, tough my original guess was Retina. :3
PeterThePanda, 24 Oct 2018TL:DR - the iPhone XR is just an upgraded iPhone 8 with a slightly bigger screen, 1 GB more of... more+ Better battery life + Better cameras
Do you think the latest P20, S9, Pixel 3, G7, XZ3 ... are any more revolutionary compared to their previous iteration ?
That's just how things are done these days. What else did you want to see ?
Imo, a slightly higher resolution would have been nice to have.
But this phone already feels much more like an upgrade from the 8 than the 8 from the 7.
what dual sim functionality????
Yikes... remember that whatever price you see in the store, will be about $150 more after all the cables and adapters you will need.
Is it worth it to just to be closed into Apple's walled garden? Clearly not.
Dominique, 24 Oct 2018Sorry but I would rather buy Huawei than Samsung phones. -,-Between Samsung and Huawei, I'd buy a Huawei phone too. But considering there are other OEMs that use Android and Snapdragon SoCs, you have plenty of choices other than Samsung, and LG. Personally, I'd prefer Sony were it not for their poor customer service in many countries, or Google Pixel had they been officially made available.
iPun 10R the only iPun worth to buy in 2018. :3
KP1508, 24 Oct 2018It's a disappointing review. GSMA seems to take a neutral stance when it comes to big wigs... ... more"Disclaimer: You might notice that this review is shorter than usual and doesn't include some of our proprietary tests. The reason is it has been prepared and written far away from our office and test lab."
Maria, 24 Oct 2018iPhone XR, does R mean " Reduced" ?No. 'R' means Rubbish.
XR = Xtra Rubbish
XS = Xtra Stone Age (technology)
XS Max = Xtra Stone Age, Maximum profit (for Apple)
X = Xtra Xcruciating Xperience (compared to android)
Anonymous, 23 Oct 2018I'd rather save that little money than purchasing MATE20 hahahahaNobody will prevent you in doing that, it's your money and preference.
Seems like what you pay for iphone in the end is way more in the end.
TL:DR - the iPhone XR is just an upgraded iPhone 8 with a slightly bigger screen, 1 GB more of RAM and slightly faster new SoC.
Anonymous, 24 Oct 2018I know when an iPhone is good when too many Apple haters come to hate it. The XR must be the m... moreyou must be "Ideepsheep", otherwise when a phone maker makes good mobile appreciate it... When they don't .... We should have to point it out.... Then only we will get good mobiles.... Any how Apple won't care, what customers said....
It's a disappointing review. GSMA seems to take a neutral stance when it comes to big wigs... please call a spade a spade.
The device doesn't seems to have been put through paces (tests). Only the benchmark tests that can be easily rigged (recall how badly the iPhoneX lost on real time speed test to OnePlus few months ago). Apple is not doing any favors by charging a bomb for its products, partly justified (as an entrepreneur) but there are compromises everywhere.
Don't belittle the good work you have been doing
Note7 owner, 24 Oct 2018It's always amazing to see so much interest in a phone that everyone here claims to be crappy... But of course, why not? Watching iSheep shelling out $749 for a jurassic phone that can't even expand storage with micro sd card, that doesn't even have a full HD screen, doesn't have a headphone jack, doesn't have manual camera controls or dual cameras, doesn't have dual sim outside China, doesn't have huge 4000mAh battery, can't transfer files to and from PC seamlessly, cannot customize the horribly cluttered screen layout/appearance, cannot wirelessly screen share without buying an overpriced Apple TV accessory, and charges you lots of $$$'s for basic accessories (fast charger) that should have been included given the obscene pricing for such a cheaply constructed product, is sure bound to get so much attention and interest.
Really, it's like your neighbor's dog pooping rainbow colored poop one day (iPhone launching date). Nobody sane is going to buy the rainbow colored poop in 6 color variations, but many will be interested to see anyway what the fuss is all about those enthusiastic Apple sheep buying rainbow colored poop for $749 in six new color variants.
gsm arena would do well to just get rid of the comments section altogether, its the same rabid fans who contribute nothing to a conversation
