I know when an iPhone is good when too many Apple haters come to hate it. The XR must be the most hated iPhone ever so that means is the best ever made by Apple.

That notch is ugly. 750 for apples budget phone haha with 720 resolution and LCD. Fast charge is good when needed but it's a joke Apple charges 70 bucks extra. One plus 6 with 1080 resolution oled display, 8gb of ram. Cost 550 buck.

"By default, all Portrait mode images are saved at f2.8, but you can adjust it from f1.4 to f16."
That's nonsense as the iPhone XR camera is already equivalent to a f/11 full frame camera, so f/16 isn't possible. Apple just calls it f/16, but it won't give you the background of a 26mm f/16 wide-angle camera.

"which introduced barrel distortion that is typical of wide-angle lenses when you get close to a subject"
That's nonsense, that's perspective distortion, not barrel distortion! Has nothing to do with the lens!

Anonymous, 23 Oct 2018have you read the disclaimer on the first page? Again, I don't care. Such type of reviews should not exist in the first place, regardless of any circumstances.

Dominique, 23 Oct 2018Add a little to the price and you can have the Mate 20. -,-Or wait 4 months so you can get a phone with the Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 by early 2019 which will absolutely crush the Kirin 980.

Kirin 980 is the most overhyped SoC of 2018, Huawei marketed it way too much claiming its faster than the A12 Bionic but it can't even beat last years A11 Bionic. Worse, it's barely faster than a Snapdragon 845 that is on the 10 nm process even if it uses the 7nm process and Huawei probably (not saying they did it this time) cheated on their benchmarks (again).

Dominique, 23 Oct 2018Add a little to the price and you can have the Mate 20. -,-Maybe

But have you see the benchmarks? Its hilarious how low it scores even compared to 8 months old 845 and 13 months old iphone X

Think this is a good phone to go for if you want a great phone that will last for over 2 years, Android phones just feel outdated after a year. The xr also seems to be the best all round out of the 3 as it does everything fairly well, the screen is good, camera is great, battery life is great, speakers are great, performance is great and it’s screen size means it’s not too big like the xs max but a bit bigger than the xs which to me left like it should be a bit bigger. Also android fans need to stop comparing this to android phones, iPhones will last longer for updates and have better app support but it is less customisable. Also can people stop comparing iPhones to Huaweis like the Huawei isn’t just an iPhone clone, just look and the p10 (rebranded iPhone 7) and the p20 (rebranded iPhone X with a chin)

Anonymous, 23 Oct 2018I think this is the dumbest comment I read today. Every iPhone XR has a black front, and on „d... moreThink they meant that the bezels blend into the black casing so it is harder to see the bezel, whereas the other colours would be easier to distinguish the bezel from the aluminium casing.

Anonymous, 23 Oct 2018I have a question. Fandroids are always arguing „the same grid of icons since 2007“ yet I wond... moreToo name a few widgets that no one uses I can assure you that I use my alarm clock widget, timer widget, calendar widget's (both android and outlook) daily.
The other widgets that are on less frequent but still used quite often are my Samsung music widget, google play music widgets (certain playlists), photo frame (for barcode scanning and what not) google search widget... do you see that maybe the few people you know that don't use the widget doesn't mean there is not the same amount that actually do use them.
I remember my wife's iphone 3G that would not let her put any icon anywhere she wanted, they needed to be arranged in nice clean rows while my htc magic offered near limitless customization for back then.
iOS is a smoother OS but it still lacks the fundamentals that drew me into Android from day 1. iPhone's are made for simple people who choose to be spoon-fed instead of being independent, hence the term 'sheeple'.

iPhones are jewlery so there is no point in talking about prices or logic.
And the iOS topic is obsolete since iOS11. Every update brings more bugs than new features.

If the screen wouldn't have such a low resolution and the IP rating would be better, then yes.

But since the iPhone X was a disaster in terms of reliability (overheating), I better let others be beta testers until they get their shit done right.
Luckily there are many alternatives if one is open-minded for both OS-worlds.

Anonymous, 23 Oct 2018I know it may be the same as the previous iPhone XS Max Cons, but let me add what GSMArena is ... moreMost of them are actually advantages.

For one 3.5 mm is legacy and a waste of space. You can find a dongle for $0.5 from eBay if you instist on using your legacy headphones.

Secondly the design is still ahead of its time. Still the only phone series without a chin.

3rd, the notch is impossible to avoid at this point. Either you go full bezel (so you all that part of the front face, or you go with hidden cameras, which would kill the phone fast (any mechanical part really)

4th , I can't believe that you are still crying for the loss of active biometrics. God you are such luddites. Active biometrics is the past, get over it. Nobody who used the magic that is of merely looking to unlock misses the fingerprint scanner. It's about time for the rest of the world to join too.

Also you neglected to say that the SoC is so ahead of its time that Qualcomm would probably need two iterations to reach it this time.

Fast charging is for suckers BTW. I know no phone that fast charged that couldn't hold only half its initial battery life after 2 years of use. You are now a fan of planned obsolescence?

Even if your phone comes w fast charging throw away that sh** and buy regular charger. Your phone won't last for long otherwise..
