What happened to that "Comparisons and alternatives" section?
Anonymous, 26 Oct 2018Was your uncle's Note updated to the latest version of android each year? I guess not, because... moreHhhh we all know that android is better . I still use a smartphone with nougat and it works perfectly . I will never get an iphone even for free . Apple doesn't make phones it make segregation between poor and rich . In some countries iphone's price is equal to 4 times the salary of a teacher . Android manufactures don't upgrade their phones with latest updates because they try to make phones accessible to all categories of people at different prices from low ends midrange and flagships. They don't sell 3 phones a year . Some produces more then 20 per year .it's not easy to update aln of them especially when they have a custom ui that try to make software as good as ios . So learn peace and love android.
Apple couldn't afford to put headphone jack and waterproof so they made the customers pay.
As I've said earlier, iPhone Xr is the new form factor (not screen) AND not the first offer this year, which means it is NOT the main flagship of Apple this year, indeed it is a step below flagships which are Xs and Xs Max, and not vice versa, unlike last year where Apple offered 8 and 8 Plus as main flagships and X as a special anniversary product. The form-factor of 8 and 8 Plus is similar to Xs and Xs Max with screens maximized and swapped for OLED instead of LCD while Xr stands in the middle.
I would like Apple to offer a smaller size Xr next year, something around 4.7-5 inch 19.5:9 sRatio to expand it's size alternatives like it does with iPads.
Qwerty2018, 26 Oct 2018Smart(ass) people trying to fool sheeps, LOL Did u EVER have a Samsung Note 4, for example?... moreActually, iPhone's powerful processors coupled with weak battery tech, the FA gets triggered with massive CPU activities to force battery to die down and make the mobile to go on optimal mode then slow down the performance....it is a multi-tiered step primarily triggered through very very powerful processors not required for a mobile phones that cannot take any of its computing power!

Did u EVER have a Samsung Note 4, for example?... moreWas your uncle's Note updated to the latest version of android each year? I guess not, because android phones are always falling behind in terms of updates.
So yeah, running a phone with older-than-current OS version, or with the original OS version will keep the phone working for longer. But there's no security, no bug fixes, no new features, it's all old stuff.
If you take some 2014-2016 phone and install android 9 on it, it will lag.
Whereas if you have a 4 year old iPhone, it will still work smoothly on the latest version. If it's a 3 year old iPhone, it's going to perform flawless. If it's 2 years old or newer, it's going to perfom perfect.
For example, an iPhone 4 will still perform perfectly today if it were running on iOS 6.
With android you get two options:
- have less lag by not updating or because you can't install the current OS version on devices older than 2 years
- experience lags because you updated to the latest available version - which is most probably older than the current one.
It's funny calling others 'sheep' when you buy products that require you to pay more money to get the latest OS version. (aka buying a new phone that supports the latest version)
How's your Android 7 going? We have Android 8 and 9 now so you will need a new phone for the latest one. Or wait one year to get an update to Android 8 by the time Android 10 comes out.
And I'm rocking my 2 year old iPhone on iOS 12 - the latest version. And it'll run iOS 13 as well. And iOS 14. The moment they will be released, I will have them installed. No delays.
Now please, let me know more about how "nice, smooth, and updated" your android phone is.

That's why it sold quite high even for a 4 years old device (around 150 dollars nowadays) as Note 4 here is known as robust as the old Nokia.

Did u EVER have a Samsung Note 4, for example?... moreWell. My father has used the Note 4 for about 3 years and after 1.5 year started complaining about it getting very hot. (changing the battery made no difference).
His phone also had troubles focusing from almost the beginning.

My uncle had it for 4 DAMN YEARS, and NO 'laggy' mess whatsoever albeit only having 3GB RAM!
Yes, the display got mild burn-in as it was 4 years old now, but no decrease in performance AT ALL.
Yes, the software update support was already over, but there is no "planned obsolescence" added to the last security patch.
Yes, the battery wears with time, but he can EASILY buy and change it FOR FREE even after the warranty period was over (only need to buy SEVERAL batteries while it lasts (NO repair costs)
(he owned both the SD805 version, and Exynos 5433); unlike iphails who GOT OBSOLETE after 2 years and become worse by the time it got major 'update' (pushed persistently to old iphails just to make sure the performance will decreased, so sheeps forced to buy the 'recently' available ones which cost an arm and leg))

Also, you can expect the Xr to remain fast and smooth for at least 3-4 years. This is what matters most, imo.
User experience must not be so terrible given that iphones have the most returning customers of any phone brand. You are gonna say they are just blind sheeps, though.
The iPhone XR looks like a great device.
Thanks for the review.

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2018Are you also jealous of people buying Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Aston Martin, etc.?
They c... moreThey buy an expensive car so people notice them and they feel good about them self. Its the same with iPhones, people buy them to be cool to others. Why would anyone accept a worse screen, slower charging, no possibility of switching data without iTunes for MORE money? Why do almost all iPhones have the same ringtone? Because they wanna be noticed. They feel important. A huge part of the people owning an iPhone buys it because of the logo and because they don't know better.
The biggest sales advantage of the XR is people who own an old iPhone model will be happy and will not notice the proven WORSE screen? It sounds to me like "hey, they are used to use dated out tech and will pay for it anyway so it doesn't matter".
All the youtube reviews make me wanna puke. They sold their opinion for a free device, let's face it. Just put the XR next to a Note9 and start youtube. I don't even wanna mention the other 100 things that the iP lacks and, yes, they are the same category as the Note 9 costs 850 euros brand new in my country without a contract and the XR is 950 euros.
And no, iOS is not better than android at that price level. Whoever says that hasn't had a top-tier Android device for more than a day.

They cost hundreds of thousands of $ but they are only 2-2.5 times faster than a $5,000 car.
So where's the gain for the money???
Nice logic, right? Because you find these expensive and not very cost efficient, it doesn't mean that those who buy them are Ferrari sheep or Lambo sheeple. They are just people who don't care about costs.
Would you buy a $400 pair of shoes? It's not 10x better than a $40 pair. No matter how much better it is, it's still better. And better is better, no matter by what margin. The best sprint runner in the world is maybe 10% faster than the average in sprint running.
Who would you like to be: the average one for little-to-medium effort or the one that's 10% faster but has to train 10x more for that 10% performance?
