Disappointed by the new digital zoom, it can't even handle 2x which means that it likely only has an advantage in 1.1-1.9x where the competition has no such algorithm and no optical solution covering the range either.
However the night mode, even in alpha, is highly impressive. It's for sure that P20P's night mode couldn't have retained such fine detail compared to non-night mode, as for the Mate20P there's no way to say for certain except with a head-on comparison.
No expansion memory? Never mind I will go for other phones with SD card slot.
There maybe a problem in the "video quality comparison" web page of GSMARENA , because the Low Light 2160 video of the Pixel 2 is much more clear and sharp than the Pixel 3. Perfectly visible in the ten pounds banknote
Only thing attractive is small size and you can actually carry it normally. Can someone tell about Pixel phone app/dialer - is it like HTC has (can see last call and numpad same view, can edit number before calling etc) ? HTC sense is by far the best on the market and having tried them all from Iphone to Samsung i feel these are massively overrrated. So hoping if Pixel is similar due link with HTC but havent found any info yet.
google your phone is so advanced it travelled from the 90s into 2018 !!!
I ordered the pixel 3 because it has OLED, it is relatively slim and light and it does NOT have an edge-design.
MadMel, 01 Nov 2018"pure" Android praise and myth about "best camera" on phone are just YT advertise...Pixel does... moreI don't know about hardware... but on software... pixels are 2 steps over others...
overall best android experience...

I have a HTC One A9, same size as the Pixel 3 but the smaller Pixel now has a bigger screen. The Pixel 2 (same size as the A9 (forefather size to Pixel, it had a not so smooth glass to frame transition so i waited.
After watching all the releases, i finally ordered a 3. On the 3 XL, you can hide the notch with a setting but also their is another application i watched that hides the notch and puts the readouts into that newly created top bezel which is fine. I was so tempted for the larger one but the compact 3 it is. I should be able to leave my Cannon camera at home for some travels and cant wait for the Night Shot to be activated later this month. Any little bugs, updates will address im sure.
"pure" Android praise and myth about "best camera" on phone are just YT advertise...Pixel doesn't have hardware or software better than others but it does have army of youtubers to share false excitement about mediocre phone.
I think it's a rather nice phone. And the fact that they only did a minor upgrade to what everyone says was 'the best camera of 2017' then I'm ok with that.
The fact is still the same that it's taken other phone's 2 or even 3 (cough, huawei) sensors to edge out (and barely) last years 'camera phone to have'.
Still would rather have the Pixel 3 XL over the Mate 20 Pro anyday.
those bezels just scream outdated from every angle. Clean android is nice and all but at this price point that alone is just not enough.
Anonymous, 01 Nov 2018Actually, Night Sight isn't impressive. It's a noisy and blurry mess. You can replicate it in ... moreThere's much, much more to it than simply setting a long exposure, but it looks like you were not paying attention. Or are just making up "facts" that you haven't researched.
Poor performance, ongoing bugs , cheap easily scratched paint job. And too much money.
Dolanescu, 01 Nov 2018rly? I have a pixel 2 xl... I never detected any heat... and I play PUBG for long periods... ... moreYou should've read the review first before replying back to me... Obviously I'm talking about Pixel 3, not your older generation Pixel.

Oh, btw. Something everyone forgets: It has by far the best selfie-camera.
Not saying it's the most important thing, but that's still something to point out. Saying it doesn't have an unique selling point is wrong.
Actually Google should have great success with this one in selfie-fancy Asia, lol. Ok, to be realistic, it might be too expensive for a not-apple-phone.
