For those who keep bashing GSMA about the review's shortness:
"Disclaimer: You might notice that this review is shorter than usual and doesn't include some of our proprietary tests. The reason is it has been prepared and written far away from our office and test lab. Still, we think we've captured the essence of the phone in the same precise, informative and detailed way that's become our trademark. Enjoy the good read!"
It seems to me that whoever commenting about the shortness of the review has not bothered at all to read the disclaimer at the bottom of the 1st page (quoted above). Every short review has this disclaimer at the bottom of the 1st page.
Unrepairable phone for 1000$? Thanks, Google, but no. Make your phone business more serious first, prepare support, repair parts and then sell your scratchy phones sell to stupid fans who think vanilla Android is something better than skinned one.
I just read the review. As someone else have said, i would also like to point out that the "Super Res Zoom" is not nearly as good as optical zoom. In fact i would say you're discrediting phones with optical zoom when you call a fancier digital zoom as equivalent to it.
As for it having the slowest fast charge... That is seriously disappointing. Google should stop using their stupid Power Delivery method & stick to trusty Quick-Charge technology. If they want to play it safe, they can stick to version 2.0 just like Samsung does. At least that will be classifiable as Fast-charge. It is downright unacceptable for a modern phone to take nearly 3 hours to charge. It should be half of that at most. Preferably a quarter of that.
Walter C. Dornez, 12 Nov 2018To be fair, Samsung's OLED nowadays has less problems than the competitionhttps://youtu.be/uwxxQ9FZXow
Don’t think so! I thing pixel 3 xl comes with S7 edge OLED not the latest that comes with S9, note 9 and iPhone X.
lahuevo, 11 Nov 2018huawei mate 20 pro>google pixel 3 xlTrue, but still same as pixel 3xl no 4K@60fps no 1080 slow mo@ 240fps.
Anonymous, 12 Nov 2018Next year, most of the consumers will be using foldable devices, notches phone will be a throwaway. Are you sure?
You know something's not right when GSMA doesn't provide the usual review rating :/
What about the review that people hate? It seems pretty fair and on point to me.
Google made a half-@$$ed phone that, from an overall picture, is worse than the pixel 2/2xl. So here is a half-@$$ed review that the phone so deserved. I hope GSMArena continue to do reviews like this and save the comprehensive ones to phones that are worthy of it.
r33fd, 12 Nov 2018Your reply is a kinda disrespectful but I do agree with the general idea. Objectivivity and... more The reality is... that, more often than not, persons who comment here, due so in disrespectful form ;-( .
StraightEdgeNexus, 12 Nov 2018Wow it took you a whole month to put up a review and this is what we get? No lab tests? I don'... moreYour reply is a kinda disrespectful but I do agree with the general idea.
Objectivivity and professional tests are what makes GSM arena reviews the best.
If you take that away what remains is no better then a random YouTube video.
Anonymous, 12 Nov 2018128 GB not enough?? Why do you critisize that? Even S9 has 64 Gb.And the S9 has a microSD slot
Anonymous, 12 Nov 2018128 GB not enough?? Why do you critisize that?
Even S9 has 64 Gb.You're wrong. S9 comes in 3 storage versions. 64gb/128gb/256gb. It also has a SD card slot. So it's all good.
What's not good, is Pixel 3/XL having only 64gb/128gb options WITHOUT a SD card slot!
Wow it took you a whole month to put up a review and this is what we get? No lab tests? I don't care what your reasoning is, you could've taken another 15 days instead of putting up this crap opinion piece I can read in 100 other websites
-Awkwardly large body with slippery slides
-Back glass scuffs easily
-FUGLY NOTCH and chin take up significant space at front
-Display doesn't get bright enough
-Touchscreen constantly reacts to accidental touches around edges
-Camera has flicker under fluorescent lighting
-Unbalanced left and right speaker volume
-Low RAM bottlenecks performance
-Storage option maxes out at 128GB. Google, for the love of god, add the da*n microsd slot already as a CHOICE!! It's almost a decade since we weren't happy that you removed it since Nexus S!!
-No 4K 60 video mode for camera
-No 3.5mm jack since Pixel 2 Series as STANDARD (PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE)
-No microsd slot since Nexus S as STANDARD (PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE)
-Proprietary wireless charger (PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE)
-FORCED GESTURES-based UI. Google, give us an option to use software nav-bar keys which is straightforward and easy to use as a CHOICE!!
There, editor, fixed it for you.
Useless review, and although we keep requesting GSMArena not to do such fake reviews, they don’t seem to care.
