The Worst trends are, in order of importance:
1. Removing the 3.5mm headset jack.
2. Making the corners of the screen rounded rather than using all of the space available in the corners - form over function.
3. Ugly notches.

Looking at the leaked render of XZ4, however, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the case.

Slayer, 01 Jan 2019I bet you've not even held the XZ3, the battery lasts as long as most and adapts to your usage... more"easily the best screen on any smartphone"
https://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_xz3-review-1822p3.php

Also last time I saw the low light camera comparison between XZ2 Premium and iPhone XS Max, iPhone was literally taking a dump on Xperia. XZ3 isn't really a horrible low light performer per se but if you want to say that its camera is good then you probably don't want to compare it to iPhone which is IMO the best cameraphone of the year.

A really good camera, youtube the comparison with IP Xs Max, excellent low light performance. The only criticism from me would be the universal one regarding the lack of headphone jack but all OEMs are conning people with that.

Best trend Poco and Pricing of simillar phones.
Worst trend Notch, more notches, even more notches and Samsung curved screen on every Samsung phone.
The last thing is worst if you have to glue like a 20 screen protectors a day.
I really hate curved screens made by Samsung.

I like how you put OnePlus in the same sentence as Apple and Google. Just shows how it has become a normal company with incremental improvements over the years at higher prices, just as the other big makers. Yet there are still people praising them for being a rebel company, pffft

Now they putting even narrower screen ratios. Which is useless for both people who like big screens and for people who like small phones. It will always be too tall and too small at the same time. 21:9 Will be a nightmare and they are already starting to use it.

From my point of view this year was the worst since I became more interested in mobile technologies (which was about 2002)Â…
Less innovation, more marketing and boasting. More cameras with lower quality, the so-called AI features made the results even worse. The neverending story of performance and benchmark races, but with no real effect, since programming became less and less effective. New versions of operating systems with many problems (especially iOS), but the price of phones gets higher and higher. The stupid and ugly notches and holes of all kinds on top of it all...
And what's the worst - I see no improvement for 2019.

HP, 30 Dec 2018Xiaomi is a clear winner in 2018. Read all the article and you could know clearly that even Sa... moreSame boring and manipulated theme by this Arena. Here's why:
1. Worst comments about Sony, that in every speed test in real life and Youtube is better (in many aspects) than the so-they-call 'notch' Cr-Apple and S(h-eat)sung.
2. Face detector, eye sensors, voice ones?? Only gimmicks! Cr-Apple screwed all its users in regards of protection by its very bad updates. Cr-Apple apps and protections are only a paid for it lie. Stop buying Cr-Apple! It's patrolled by Satan's of FBI modes!
3. Samsung and Huawei were having way too much advertising! In real life tests were only medium quality and heavy loaded by self distruction settings (who has a more than 2 years Sammy working perfectly it's an undesired exception for its rulers) and non usable apps.
4. Cameras?? Do you think that a selfie camera blurr bokeh effect can make difference about camera quality? There are so many lonely and empty hearten people on this earth for this bokeh to win camera modules?? Did you know how many people buy smartphones only for this crap option? Sony did quality with one sensor as same as did these with more than 3 cameras. But it needs some settings. Who cares? Surely for Arena is a big NO!
5. Battery life is same on all devices with some very few small differences for the Oled ones. Sony managed best recharging time, battery life and battery quality.
6. Screen. Sony did it best with its LCD's no matter how old or classier they are. Its Oled K.O.-ed all other on the market nowadays. Cr-Apple, S(h-eat)sung, LG are now exploiting the first concept modules (of many years behind) of Sony's, that Sony badly decided to quit developing them and selling them.
7. Jack? Do you know that Sony from MW-600 device to now SBH24/54 ones how good they are? I am still having and sometimes using the MW600? And many of nowadays wired headphones are so low in quality? Stop using this pretext.
8. Sony is the most expensive?? How is Cr-Apple at same performance?? Geez how much guts on some people for making money sharing fake news and bad vibes!
Some people don't care about truth. For the others take care and have a blissful 2019!
