I am a Xiaomi fan, but for a flagship phone with no OIS??? really??? I'm so disappointed.
Render photos and 360view, different notch.... OWNED.
Does it have a notification LED?
look like a oneplus 6t
Mi 9 is basically a copy of Mi 8 with 855 slapped on it.
Mi 8 cons:
No 3.5mm jack, no microSD slot, no IP rating, no stereo speakers, no wireless charging,Thermal throttling
4K video recording lacks stabilization
Mi 9 cons:
No audio port and no stereo speakers
No microSD slot
Limited LTE bands
Lacks optical stabilization
What is the new thing except their ugly UI,no notch, new chipset and tad bit improved camera ?
No ois, no headphone jack, small battery and an ugly notch. Disappointed. Nice chin tho.
lol it looks like they blew their budget on the screen and the main camera took a hit because they just had to use a triple camera setup on such a limited budget
Anonymous, 20 Feb 2019Stellar device but will they launch this in india??In India they are in the first place. To maintaining in the podium they need mi 9 series in India.
Note to writers that the price for the base model (6GB) is ¥2999, and not ¥3299.
As such, you should decrease your expected price when converting to other currencies.
StereoSpeakerLover, 20 Feb 2019@GSMArena: Please add no "No Stereo speakers" to the cons list.Buy an wireless spekear or a great pair of bluetooth tws for greatest auditions.
Anonymous, 20 Feb 2019Great phone but too bad the battery life is average for me, looks like i'll go for Mate 20For twice the cost?! Better get mi 9, charger kit and the wireless battery + a weekend break in Barcelona.
I'm really dissapointed with the image quality. Had much higher expectations. Up close there aren't many details and it still looks like a brush stroke whereas the older P20 Pro makes much more detailed images. But then again the sensor of the P20 Pro is still bigger than the one found in the Mi 9.
@GSMArena: Please add no "No Stereo speakers" to the cons list.
have you tried charging speed with PD chargers? QC 4 should be compatible with USB PD 27W profile so it would be interesting to see what speeds are actually achievable.
Nick Tagataka, 20 Feb 2019I hope they do, but who knows, it's Xiaomi after all.. They make great all-round phones with e... moreIt's not that they don't. Software-wise, they'll be probably falling back a step behind by the likes of Huawei or Google because their hardware is a pretty great setup IMO.
Welp, the phone did fall short on some parts, but considering it's price, it's an all round banger to other flagship smartphones.
vrvly, 20 Feb 2019farv from detail in view 20 ultra clarity mode, wonder if it will get something similar...I hope they do, but who knows, it's Xiaomi after all.. They make great all-round phones with excellent price performance ratio, but they don't put too much effort on improving camera.
Whackcar, 20 Feb 2019I do. Single Core scores are terrible. It is actually behind last year's Exynos. That's really... moreThe high single core score of Exynos 9810 has been only achieved by the turbo mode of the CPU, where each core becomes clocked higher when fewer of them are used(i.e. A mode literally made for GB single core test). In real life Exynos performs way worse than Snapdragon 845 because of badly designed M3 cores and poor CPU scheduling and is not at all comparable to newer SoC built on 7nm node such as Snapdragon 855, Kirin 980 and A12. Not even remotely close.
A very good all around smartphone afterall, especially for the money. Good job Xiaomi!
