Lol and the mere fact that nobody has joined Sony in this 4K master race alone makes it a ridiculous competition for them.....
Anonymous, 15 Mar 2019its fine if the top bezel is not that HUGE. i mean look at s9 and mix 2. its not that hard ... moreS9 and Mix2 have the same size or bigger bezel than Xperia 10 top bezel. 10mm bezel is not bad at all, it might seem big on pictures but in person it's normal bezel
500 bucks for a 200 or 250 euros specs phone.
Review is over i wont reccomend to buy it maybe after a year when the price becomes more real.
Sony is a dreamer and as a dreamer it will die once in the future.

its not that hard to design awesome phone with bezel.
AnonD-241270, 14 Mar 2019many phones have the screen connector at middle of the screen or at side, if you see teardown'... moreBezel has nothing to do with the connector in Xperia 10's case. Xperia 10 has connector and needed electric components below the top bezel anyway. Bezel is strictly a design decision. Sony didn't want to go notch so they went with full width bezel. That's all it is to it. Notch in nothing more than a top bezel with trimmed sides and all components centered.
Xperia 10 notch is about 10.4mm tall. Notch on iPhone XR and iPhone XS are almost as tall as Xperia 10 but here is the fun fact: Xperia 10 has less total bezels than both iPhone XR and XS. Total bezel area for X10 is 5.32si while XS has 5.67 and XR 7.18 square inches.

sony built a freakishly tall phone, and still manage to include a leviathan size bezel???
how low exactly you can go sony?

battery usage and brightnesss and accuracy matter a whole lot, just screaming PPI at screen does not make it flagship. Also can I know a mid range phone with quad he display? Don't say ex flagship names...
Anonymous, 14 Mar 2019And why is 800 ppi so important on a phone?Imagine paying a thousand dollar for a flagship phone, only to have a screen that has less than 500ppi, given that many studies have proven that a normal human eye could discern pixels even beyond 400ppi.
Basically, what's the point of having only 500ppi when many mid rangers have nearly identical level of pixel density already, all for a fraction of their asking prices??

Nicolas F, 14 Mar 2019Smartphone doesn't need more than 400 ppi (460 if OLED).Weird, because since Samsung and LG started to use QHD , companies like Sony and Apple got bashed by using 1080p.
Except Xperia Compact line, all flagships always had more than 420 ppi.
Whoever the hell that signed off on this end product design imho should be fired YESTERDAY along with the other idiot who finalized the RRP. Again Sony disappoints with their usual price vs. battery life ROI and this time this thing is plastic to boot! You would have thought that after like last 3 gens of phones made them learn a few things but clearly they didn't.
I knew from the outset that this is again gonna be an.overpriced Snapdragon 636 phone against the competition, voila in typical Sony fashion. **sigh**
