I had the p20 wish I hated. It lags like hell. But this p30 is a different story. Everything is buttery smooth! The kirin 980 and 6gb combo really paid of. For everyday use, it's faster then my s10. The camera is better in some scenarios then s10 and vice versa. Night shoot, the p30 wins by large margin.
Bottom line, I will sell my s10 and keep the p30.
Anonymous, 13 Apr 2019They're talking about the SD855. No, they're talking about S10 Exynos 9820.
For S855 refer to Xiaomi Mi 9 & LG G8 ThinQ in the Synthetic Benchmarks.

Lol, 13 Apr 2019No its not, s10 blows away p30 in everything other than low light photos and zoom.no it doesnt. the p30's kirin 980 is faster and has better gaming performance, has a larger battery and better cameras. s10 has a better screen and 2gb more ram

They need to use a sensor size according to focal lenght and size... moreIn NZ price in shop NZ$1099 - iPhone XR NZ$1499, S10 NZ$1499, S10e NZ$999.
I've got it from my carrier for NZ$699 with free watch GT - nothing comes close for that price (and free watch on top)!!!
Anonymous, 13 Apr 2019Where do you live, it ain't US, it ain't Europe. Is it Russia or Serbia? For example, in the center of Europe in the Czech Republic is the official price of P30 625 euros ..... Along with GT watch for free super buy.
pajson89, 13 Apr 2019p30 is 200euros cheaper than s10 ,same price as s10e so p30 is better option in every way.No its not, s10 blows away p30 in everything other than low light photos and zoom.
Shui8, 13 Apr 2019In my country, P30 cheaper than both XR & S10e.Where do you live, it ain't US, it ain't Europe. Is it Russia or Serbia?

They need to use a sensor size according to focal lenght and size of module.
That is why Huawei tele os 1/4".
So all three modules can be same thickness.

Monochrome grabs 200% more than RGB.
Since this sensor is 1/1.7" and half of it is yellow, the yellow area is similar to a 1/2.5" sensor.
If you use same software and same settings, P20 Pro in the end can give you clear night shots.
Anonymous, 12 Apr 2019"and the Galaxy has the more powerful chipset "
No I don't agree with this point kirin 9... moreKirin980 is weaker than SD845.
S10 exynos is their version of SD855
Shanti Dope, 13 Apr 2019RYYB is okay, but to correct the colors, Huawei should've also gone for a RGBC-IR sensor like ... moreHow I wish I could take hi end images on tele lens, well with right processing even from small sensor it could be better, see what mi9 tele can do.
Wouldn't be also so sceptical about xperia1 with others using 10mp to 12mp as main resolution. Sony updated pixel size, aperture and smaller sensor means there will be more of objects in focus. Not to forget that xperia10 output looks more natural than one from xz2 line, even if its better in low light and colors, processing is just so much better. Apha team setting new xperia1 with OIS is bound to kick others with most realistic colors and 12mp worth of detail. Until 60mp beast come, this one will make do, even more if processing is the same for tele and s-wide lens. Should be some serious photography.
If 192mp sensor is real, Sony got to release xperia2 soon, but it's great to see this improvement from xz2 to 1 anyway. Not sure how much color sensor helps in p30pro but it did in xperia when they moved from not having to having the sensor.
RYYB is okay, but to correct the colors, Huawei should've also gone for a RGBC-IR sensor like on Xperias to adjust the white balance once it gets off.
But because they don't really mind inaccurate colors (people only like what's colorful, forgetting how the colors actually are in reality), and makes them think it's no longer necessary.
For that, I still believe a monochrome + RGB combo will be better in low light.
Xperia 1 might not yet be Sony's top tier flagship phone of 2019, so I wish for their best model this year to use their hidden weapon 66.6MP 1/1.8" IMX666 memory-stacked sensor as the primary camera, then use the XZ2 Premium's 12MP 1/2.3" sensor for monochrome, and upgrade the telephoto lens to the same 1/2.6" sensor that the Xperia 1's main camera is (but resolution is upgraded to 16MP), and keep the same wide angle lens of the Xperia 1.
All shooters except the ultrawide should have OIS, and get the AUBE™ Fusion ISP improved to complete the combo.
Even with all missing features it perform better than most flagships, maybe colors are lacking in low light, but nothing that Photoshop or even in camera settings cannot help with. 10mp shots are basically without noise and as sharp as 10mp can be, if compared their(P30&p30pro) performance, it's like 10mp pureview from 808, actually I wish we could compare them side by side. It's also about optics, see difference to the side s10 for example. Though mi9 offers sharpest 12mp normal and tele, this one gives noiseless one at 10mp, by your preference.

Want better colors in low light? What about ryyb 10mp 1/1.7" sensor, other than pixel size and aperture, only sensor tech center help, not that ryyb can win over 3layer from Xperia just compare to xz2compact or other Xperia for low light colors.

With the right alogrithm the Monochrome + RGB combo will produce better result in every situation not only low light but it also require more processing power.
And from what i can see so far RYYB sensor perform great in low light but i can't say the same about colors.
Headphone jack? yes
Only one single firing speaker at the bottom. Won't be buying this.

AnonD-816568, 13 Apr 2019Monochrome sensor will gather more lights than RYYB sensorTrue. But this RYYB sensor alone are brighter than P20 pro that got monochrome sensor. Even Auto mod on P30 can get a lot brighter in dark area without sacrificing quality than Night Mod on P20 Pro.
I'll say P30 move to ditch monochrome & replace it with wide angle is more versatile.
YUKI93, 13 Apr 2019I want to know this: Would you prefer the B&W lens on the previous P20 Pro or the ultrawid... morefor me the main aspect about p30 vs p20 pro is the image processing which has majorly improved
