From the tool comparing the cameras, the Redmi Note 7 si a lot better and in low light is in another world, very superior above this phone in quality. Better with video too and stabilized. Lol and this one again with microUSB... Redmi Note 7 for me no doubt!
Anonymous, 22 Apr 2019Not 3rd party apps but preinstalled appsThen again, probably not the same with the new A series
Anonymous, 22 Apr 2019Not 3rd party apps but preinstalled appsMost of them removable. Haven't seen any ads on my Mom's J4+, the preinstalled apps have been left untouched/weren't uninstalled, so 3rd party apps can still be the cause

I always maintain manufacturers should launch two variants - one with ads and other at a slight premium without ads leaving the choice with consumers.

Everywhere else though, Xiaomi and Samsung don't have ads. Seems to possibly be part of an agreement in India, since the mobile landscape is getting more popular in India.

Few months back I had mentioned Xiaomi's dubious ad policy will 'inspire' other manufacturers.
Realme 3 Pro is a better device than Redmi 7 pro and Samsung A50 as it doesn't invade privacy of owners with pesky ads. This is true for India, I don't know about other markets.
Anonymous, 22 Apr 2019All brands should use only usb C since 2017.
I hate the fact many chinese brands trade NFC... moreIt's normal the transition from micro to type-c take a lot of time because micro are so popular and become de facto standart in the phone industry (exc. apple).
Moreover all/most mid-low phone which have type-c port, still using usb 2.0 speed and also only have basic feature for charging and data transfer.

'There's a ton of detail captured and there's no noise to complain about.'
Just one question. Does GSMArena have crews separated for low- and midrange and flagship reviewing? Because this camera is objectively FAR from capturing 'ton of detail'.
You just look at this messy grass, starting.. from nearest point. This is actually gross.

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2019no USB-C is a deal breaker from 2019 on wardsAll brands should use only usb C since 2017.
I hate the fact many chinese brands trade NFC, USB C, Gorilla 4 or 5 for more RAM and better cpu.
I'd rather have SD625 with all this than 636 or 660 without
Battery test should have scored 105h
Walter C. Dornez, 22 Apr 2019Nah, that's most likely third party related.Preinstalled apps

Not only m series but also a series have ads
If you have a samsung phone and you didn't saw ads just open some preinstalled samsung apps and than you will start seing ads
DroidBoye, 22 Apr 2019LOL, yeah, A50 is only equal to it's significantly lower priced "competitors".I said in terms of camera. Performance may seem under par but reviews have shown the phone doesn't skip a beat since it's quite well optimized. In general though, software is better than a large majority of the budget and mid-range, losing out to only fans and stock Android

And for competition's sake, maybe replace SoCs of phones using E7870 with E7884, E7884 with E7904, E7904 with E7885, E7885 with E9610, and for the A50 (2020)'s chipset, their new Exynos 9710. Then yeah, I can see their goal to remain no 1 is highly possible
Buuut... we, as their customers must criticise them for not being on par with others. That's simply how it's done to get the best of the best as a consumer. So please, complain more ;)
