Ive had this phone 3 months after using Samsung for years.
The handset itself is awful. Very quiet call volume, much quieter than the J5 i used for years.
The touch screen miss touches a lot.
The new update of the operating system is treacherously bad. Nit the OS i thought I would be using.
I will not use Samsung again for phone or tablet until consumer engagement impacts their development.

I bought this phone recently and had to change it twice! The phones had a weird rattling noise while on the phone and hardly hearing someone talk. I replaced my sim to a new one which made no difference. I am now on my 3rd phone and about to change to a different make !

Your S5 was a flagman phone. A40 is budget product. You cannot compare them.

I'm having a nightmare with my brand new A40.
The internet connection is SO painfully SLOW..that much of the time websites time out.
When I upgraded,I was told it was
was 4g but in settings it says 2 or 3 g.
Also the normal Google search page isn't there.Instead of the search icon there is a speaker.It wont let me search as freely as my S5.

I would always take better battery time over phone thinness, but in this case I wouldn't say it is lame or terrible.
