6.67"? Simply too big! If I want a device of this size then I would go for a tablet. 6.0" - 6.2" (max) would be perfect. And those SAR-values, 1.2 W/kg (head) and 1.4 W/kg (Body) are simply unacceptable! It's like carrying "nuclear core" in the pocket. SAR-values should have been 0.8 W/kg max. In addition, the price of 700,- euros for the basic configuration 6GB/128GB is simply too high! A price of 500,- euros for this version would be realistic. The lack of headphone jack, micro sd extension etc. is a deal breaker. The smartphone is large enough to include these basic things. Other than that, I like the design and the specs very much. Kudos Oneplus for the design and specs.
Sorry, but I am missing several info. from your review:
Focal length of each camera. Your explanation main, wide and telephoto (3x) is not sufficient.
Bitrate and codeck of the videos ?
Sunlight display contrast ?
Thank you for supply.
Anonymous, 15 May 2019Was there a need for the camera to go to ISO1600 for the low light photos? They certainly don'... moreI'm pretty sure they test at auto, since this is how most will use it. So blame the camera software :-)
neo, 15 May 2019where is mi 9 comparison?https://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=5&idPhone1=9689&idPhone2=9507&idPhone3=9513
Here's some camera comparisons. Mi9 being the obvious winner in good light, but it looks like Mi9 still has a lot to go on with regards to the camera software in low light. At least at the point when gsmarena tested it. Redmi note 7's processing beats it in low light. It's is quite possible that this has changed since, but I don't know for sure.
Oneplus has the more aggressive noise reduction, leading to quite a bit of fine detail loss. Quite a smudgy effect some places, even in good light.
I'm posting here because oppo ,vivo ,oneplus and realme they are from same parent company bbk electronics ,China . I'm owning oppo f9 pro ,it's the first time I'm using any device from oppo there are few issues I have been faced . 1. Battery was 13% and flash was not working ,displaying battery is low ,can't open the flash ( I did not get that ,is that some kind of bug or feature been added ,I bought the device for clicking pictures as well as calling ,if flash is not accessible even 13 % of juice ,it's just like a conventional feature cellphone ) .kindly consider my issue . 2. Sometimes the volume button doesn't work when you are on call and try to decrease/ increase the volume ,it works when you put cellphone away from your ears ,and screen again brighten up ( It happens 6-7 times out of 10) .3. sometimes screen don't get black when you on the call and there is some application displaying on main screen , like If you open message when you are on the call ,and then put again cellphone close to ears ,screen won't get off ( it happens 5 out of 10 ) .4.Device getting warm sometimes while multitasking or can say sometimes during call also . 5.last but not the least ,your customer care is not responsive ,calling since yesterday and nobody is answering ..Well it's been just a month I started using this device and faced such kind of annoying issues .try to fix it all and if possible provide some updates regarding to new andriod .. regards __another oppo user ,let me get chance to add as "proud oppo user" by solving such issues .
As expected, what the camera setup delivers is just average considering most of the reviews so far available and not near the chart toppers. On a side note, DxoMark sometimes drinks a lot while testing cameras.
Having the ultra-wide lens on the OP7 Pro falling short of expectation and 90 Hz refresh rate is a battery hog, the vanilla OnePlus 7 looks like a way better deal!
DJ.Grand Theft Audio, 15 May 2019Never had a phone with memory card slot that slowed the phone down or made it crash. Clearly you did not because the sd card does not slow the phone or make it crash.
Was there a need for the camera to go to ISO1600 for the low light photos? They certainly don't look too good. I reckon ISO800 is possible for a shutter speed of 1/10s.
Falls behind Mi9 in almost all areas, still didnt include MI9 in alternate options?
Oneplus, your phones are good but your prices are becoming a joke. You really dare charge us those prices with those underwhelming features? No IP rating. No wireless charging. No SD Card. Mediocre camera (especially the ultra wide with extremely muted colors). Not even a 3.5mm dongle. Seriously Oneplus? That is not a flagship killer at all. This is a budget flagship that carries a high price tag. Who are you fooling here? I mean, you can fool the American consumers in the US with such a trick just like Apple and Samsung does. But you can't pull those trick in India and other Asian countries where you are supposed to be the leading flagship.
Even the budget pixels are a better deal than yours. Not to mention the Mi 9 that is way cheaper but can pull a better triple camera set-up. You even forcibly downgraded the camera set-up in your non-Pro version which is outrageous.
You focused all your hopes on that 90hz display and pop-up camera which your target customers don't need at all. If we want some good display then we will be buying a Samsung instead (at a higher price of course). But your job here is to give us a cheap chinese product that has the flagship no-nonsense features. and your failing on it. Really disappointed on Oneplus.
Greetings from India.
And not one word about the new vibration motor. That's a new highly advertised feature by OnePlus, that you bluntly omitted.
imRGZ, 15 May 2019So, Camera again turned out to be achille's heel for OnePlus. Yep. No Wireless charging and IP rating as well. I don't care about the phone's real water resistance and how often do I use wireless charging. Those things just must be included in $700 or more 2019 flagship smartphone. OP7 non-pro version can miss them because it's cheaper.
Good phone for up to 600$, but not a dollar more:
Pixel / Iphone = 400$ = They can't match the features of 3 Cameras, doesn't matter if they are better in the main cam. Still very good phones just price wise they are worth that much not a dime more. They are overpriced. Mi9 kills them in DXO mark.
VectorR, 15 May 2019Yes, Xperia 1 will cost $1000 but it seems will be the only Android phone which worth it. At l... moreNope. It is not even worth $500. Bad camera as usual and heating issue as usual. Your so called alpha team can't do magic as they can't work with small sensors lol. And, they are not even the best in camera department, nikon and canon are far better in image processing.
