Due I dont loiter around, nose all the time in the phone screen during working days, then its enough for me. I myself use it mostly for point and shoot and in the evening, in bed for news and youtube or netflix. So in my situation the battery lasts almost 2 days.
everett2000, 10 Jun 2019What utter nonsense - there's plenty of reason and you give a good one yourself by mentioning ... moreSony images are downright terrible. I have many sony flagships including this junk.
79h endurance rating, 10 Jun 2019joke, it does not last even one day usage, pointless phone.unless you are not working and using ur phone all the time, then yes the battery can last you a day. I found that sometimes when i am busy during work i cant possibly finish the battery before day ends.
later on i practice 40-80% charging range so most of the time if i am sitting in my office i will just plug in to my laptop docking and charge my phone. i dont remove my usb c cable as it is just a cheap cable and i can leave it on my table and it will still be there next day.
so for my work of 50% in office 50% in production line, the battery is good enough. but for those that commute alot and use phone for media a lot during working hours, yea then it would not be enough
Yessir, 10 Jun 2019If you don't watch a ton of media the battery is actually superb if you dont use your phone, its battery actually lasts many days! but question is, why you need phone if you dont use it? for accessory?
joke, it does not last even one day usage, pointless phone.
everett2000, 10 Jun 2019What utter nonsense - there's plenty of reason and you give a good one yourself by mentioning ... moreAnd I agree yes.
Been pixelpeep examining both from samples here. Xperia is just a better lowlight shooter, in daylight some noise but better detail, while in lowlight just the opossite, much less noise with better detail preservation.
Raw noise reduction does really good.
everett2000, 09 Jun 2019I know! And people STILL leave it all over the place :P

Although Im all for wired headphones still. Wireless just isnt convenient enough for me.

everett2000, 10 Jun 2019What utter nonsense - there's plenty of reason and you give a good one yourself by mentioning ... moreAt least Sony gives users an option to shoot either without HDR, and with HDR.
With so many autoHDR phones out there, phones lost certain abilities of DSLR cameras, especially for some lowlight scenarios where HDR does more harm than good.
I need a camera without preset HDR algorithms to get some excellent looking lowlight shady noire looking shots if I feel like getting one.
Anonymous, 10 Jun 2019Turn on Stamina and you get at least 20% more from Xperia. Turning ON stamania reduces performance....so you may well buy a cheaper phone ( midrange ) with bigger battery....is nonsense. Shame on Sony for compromising
Anonymous, 10 Jun 2019Mr LQv, Sony has high noise and good details in good light, Samsung has low noise and good det... moreWhat utter nonsense - there's plenty of reason and you give a good one yourself by mentioning the Galaxy S10. The GS10 does NOT provide good detail with low noise. That's the whole point! Have you cropped an S10 image recently?
Here's something everyone reading this can do: Open two browser tabs and split screen both to equal. Now select the S10 review on GSMA and the X1 review. Find the photo's taken in good light and select the castle shot. Crop. Look at the pattern in the panel around the clock - hell look at ANY of the detail at that crop. You're going to see noise on the Sony but you're also going to see all that fine detail that Samsung throws in the bin - and there's a lot of it!
Sony has not over-reduced noise because it exterminates the kind of fine detail that gives a good photograph texture. Samsung cameras smear out the finest detail, delivering plastic-looking images that - while fine for Instagram - are nowhere near as detailed as either the Sony or the Pixel 3.
Sony has chosen to keep fine detail scrappy for a reason and I support that reason: it gives images texture and depth.
dirknelson, 10 Jun 2019Where's the link? There’s no test don’t yet by Dxomark, but camera aren’t that good still has same issue as old Xperia camera issue.

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2019These tests are done with Stamina turned OFF .... What a pathetic excuse. Other brands also have similar stamina modes, not only Sony. Do you offer the same excuse for them too? Should this website do battery tests with stamina on for all models from now on?

You gave high rating but with a lot of cons??? How is that possible? Shouldn't the list of cons affect the rating?

Phones have to choose between noise + details or no noise + no details ...
Sony choose the first, samsung choose the second.
