Anonymous, 22 Jun 2019As far as details go Google is not doing magic either. Just a very sharpened photo like the restI wouldn't say so. Just take a good look at Mate 20 Pro vs Pixel 3 vs Galaxy S9+ pictures on a high quality 24"-27" IPS monitor as I did. The difference in photo quality is obvious in favor of Pixel 3. Also zoom in a bit. Again, Pixel's amount of details is insane. Can't see any over-sharpening at all. I'm not a Pixel fan by the way.
Denis Thomas, 22 Jun 2019How is he any more credible than every other reviewer out there who praise the Xperia 1's camera?I approved his credibility by my own experience with smartphones I've used in the past. My opinion and experience coincides with his on 99%. Also I can "read" this person by looking at his eyes, mimics, speech etc. It's more than enough for me. I owe him a big mug of beer - I was about to order Xperia 1 (just for camera sake only) :). Another good example of trustful source of information - xda-developers forums. Just look at highly acclaimed OnePlus 7 Pro photo quality branch over there. I was really shocked too.

And it's screen has not been shown to be most accurate.
All you do is act like every other extreme fan and claim how perfect this phone and Sony in general are. That's what shows your opinion is wrong.

That's fun :). You're dreaming, dude. Open your eyes and look at real Xperia 1 photo samples properly (not these questionable wedding shots taken maybe in Italy at ideal soft light conditions). Photo samples coming from real Xperia 1 owners aren't so good and promising at all. Not using advantages of 48MP sensor and pixel binning technology is a big mistake Sony have made. They thought that they can do magic like Google but obviously that's not the case.
Denis Thomas, 22 Jun 2019It's screen that hits bt2020 in calibration making everything look as natural as it gets? That... moreI think u wrongly interpret my statement. Theres nothing wrong with Xperia 1 screen. In fact, i think its the best as of now.
About the battery, no. It could be better, but they refuse to. No two words about it. U cant just agree whenever there are weaknesses dont u? Otherwise they will be no 'improving' word created.
[deleted post]Dude also watch every other reviewer out there. By pointing out only it's flaws (according to you) it's a clear sign that your opinion isn't valid.
The dude says the photos aren't good because they appear natural without too much saturation. How can anyone take him seriously when he says that?!

Well you have issues. Bt2020 is the top in absolute natural display. It just can't get any better than that.
It's battery life is an achievement considering it pushes much more pixels than all other phones in the world. So you have no argument here.

And yes, Xperia 1 finally made my eyes open again for Sony, especially its screen. But its camera only excellent in daylights, average low lights & 4k video bad stability (looks like the EIS & OIS confused with each other lol).
The battery, no. Others has it so much better, along with Supercharge & wirelessly. Xperia 1 can beat them, but they refuse to do so, for the sake of cost saving.

Current Xperia 1 camera is the worst ever released on $1000 smartphone. It is even not in the line with cheap $200 Chinese phone. My old Galaxy S5 makes much better shots! Just watch a review from reputable unbiased reviewer and stop arguing (see link below). No respect to Sony for what they've done at all! They just stepped in the same sh*** once again.
Anonymous, 20 Jun 2019Stop trying to deny issues just because you claim you didn't have themWell since I didn't have these issues I'm going to ask for a source to prove yourself.
And not those one time commenters trolls on Sony forums who only state a problem and never come back.

Xperia 1's battery is in line with the other phones. And considering it has many more pixels to run, it's an achievement.
Xperia 1 has the world's 1st oled 4k display, alongside a camera to record in cinema quality 4k. These are features ONLY the Xperia 1 has.

For me the camera quality is the most important thing on a high-end $1000 or above smartphone, second one is design, third one is features and the last one is performance. So if the camera is crap like on Xperia 1 (with current software / firmware version), I will never buy it even for a half price. Can't understand stupidity of brand fan boys.
The rating of 4.2 is a bit disapointing after reading the review actually.
