It has nothing to do with selling low end products of the same brand. Just because you can buy an entry level Samsung phone for a very low price doesn't mean the brand name 'Samsung' does not have any prestige. Try selling a Oneplus 7 Pro at the price of the S10+ and see how the sales of Oneplus crumble. That's called Samsung's branding image and prestige. You can't build that image overnight even if you are as powerful and as big a company as Google. That's why Google's expensive Pixel phones keep on getting dumped. The Pixel phones have to earn that brand image and prestige by starting at an appealing price. Starting at a very high price despite being relatively new to the market is not the way to do it. Google should do it the way Huawei is doing it, and which Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are following. Start very cheap with excellent specs and super value for the money, and once you get the customer's attention and loyalty and gain a following, slowly build the image of prestige through pioneering, cutting edge technologies while also slowly increasing the phone price with careful assessment of how the market reacts. If the market share decreases, then there is a need to re-asses if the price increase was too aggressive or if there was enough advertising or pioneering or cutting edge technology that makes the customer willing to pay for the higher price. Doing a shortcut like what Oneplus is doing, (raising prices too fast, too soon without assessment of the market reaction and without offering pioneering technology) always ends up in disaster. That's why Google is outing a cheaper Pixel 3a. But still, the price is too high for a relative phone brand 'newcomer' and doesn't stand a chance with the competition from Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo. Google and Oneplus should have been done it the way Huawei built a name for itself through the years. Gradual price increases and pioneering technologies while assessing market share and what the competition offers. Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are copying Huawei's strategy. Huawei would have overtaken Samsung in the prestige ladder in a few more years if not for the Trump ban. Samsung needs to come up with something new to stay on top. Same with Apple which is in dire waters. The iPhone 11 better have something pioneering in the camera department or it will be a continuing market slide/decline that will become more and more difficult to control with each unimpressive release.

you didn't debate any single point with val... moreNow let me also read your list of s10+ better features.
I'm still laughing about samsung pay.
Samsung S10+ wins. It massacres the Oneplus 7 Pro in everything from useful features (bigger battery, micro sd, headphone jack, wireless charging, waterproofing, FM radio, etc.) to camera quality and brand prestige. The only thing the Oneplus wins is the price and for that exorbitant price for a crippled Google Pixel like phone experience, (devoid of micro sd expansion, headphone jack, etc.), I wouldn't waste any money on such phone garbage. I always consider phones without micro sd expansion and headphone jacks as planned obsolescence engineered devices with 1-2 year lifespan at most. My advice? Save up for the S10+ and just bite the bullet or better yet, get the Asus Zenfone 6 for so much better features and similar processor power for so much less.
No one is talking about spare parts availability in different region with all prices
Off course its not only the device but after sales service and justifiable parts prices

Please note that I don't like eider of smartphones (too big for me), but in a battle of s10+ vs one plus 7 plus, the easy pick would be s10+.

camera and video better? LOOOL (I love how you want to pass false news to be true)
better ergonomics is the best. 2 brickphones and no one is ergonomics, but in the ravings of a person, one must find any useful foothold
better design sincerely I prefer design of 1+, do you know why? Because this is not a technical feature but a personal taste XD
More durable WHAT??? S10+ worst battery phone in the high range man
SD slot? Do you stayed until 2012 with internat storage of 16 gb?
wireless charging oh yeah! The battery's poison (most useless function does not exist)
samsung pay SERIOUSLY? Where is the plus? It's an app! there are hundreds of similar and BETTER services (gpay). There's not exclusive lol
samsung dex only plus (battery thanks)
I want to congratulate you. You're the worst troll I've ever known =D
If I were to play your game, I would bring up the audio mode button XD

Dazed1, 03 Jul 2019Overrated? The s10 plus is the best android overall, aint nothing overrated about it.ehm no.
Best Android is P30 PRO. Best camera, best battery, UI is subjective but it's no secret that the One UI is a boulder
The Galaxy S10+ is the clear winner here, no doubt about it
The only advantage that OnePlus has is speed and its higher screen refresh rate
But I do wanna point out that the number of camera comparisons are absurd. At the same time, the audio review was VERY POOR. You guys barely touched audio while the camera was almost the entire half of the review
Pls consider audio as it is also important
Thanks for gsmarena team for so hard try compare two phone.
But why try hard?
You can wrote at beginning s10+ very good and one plus 7 pro is very bad.😁😁😁😁
But some questions available in my mind.
If in all part s10+ is better why in end page of specifications of one plus 7 pro in this site wrote is stronger?
I compare both phone with each other.
I hate of s10+ design.
Display of one plus very very. Better than s10+.
I never mind to camera.
And one plus with 700 €price is very faster as s10+ with 830 €.
And when you play with one plus 7 pro can see 90 fps if the game available but i don't know what about Samsung?
Speaker and external amplifier of one plus is also. Very good by my idea in pne plus but in Samsung only normal.
Thanks for your help.
I'm sure will buying s10+
