Not sure how the camera comparison came out with the S10+ being better than the OnePlus 7 Pro. DxoMark tested both cameras and they even concluded the OnePlus 7 Pro has a better camera than the S10+. The only smartphones that have a better camera currently are the P30 Pro and the S10 5G version, which has not come to Canada or the US as they do not have a 5G network currently in place. Personally I would go with the OnePlus 7 Pro because even the highest verison they offer is 12GB Ram and 256GB storage for $1,009.00 Canadian compared to the S10+ with 8GB or Ram and 128GB storage being $1,575.00 Canadian. Pretty easy choice. Plus the OnePlus has a way faster charger as well.
Even the latest and greatest OnePlus model, OnePlus 7 Pro, still gives no official waterproof rating. So I will not switch to that brand.
What are they thinking? Top models of Apple, Google, Huawei and Samsung have had official waterproofing for years!
@GSM Arena, Please do a similar comparision for AsuS 6z Vs OnePlus 7 Vs K20 Pro.
These models are mid-tier market equipped with flagship grade components. Its where most of the sales happen.
Anonymous, 03 Jul 2019Bmw and samsung are both unreliable overrated overpriced and boring! In fact both BMW / Samsung are known for good engineering with their products.
Just because you don't like them doesn't make them unreliable.
At the end it comes to marketing vs customer satisfaction. A product is marketed with heavy hype and customer is not satisfied to same level, that is disastrous.
Luckily BMW / Samsung were never in that situation.
DJ.Grand Theft Audio, 03 Jul 2019I chose the op7pro over the sgs10+
But how could you say that people are lazy if 256gb is not... moreThat's easy: on your laptop/PC. In my opinion a mobile phone is for long term storing, for two reasons: 1. You'll buy a new one in 3-4 years, tops. 2. Take 4K videos as an example; you record them with your phone but will play them on a tv/computer (I mean, why would you shoot a video in 4K if you only want to watch it on your phone?). Then why would you store it on your phone instead of your laptop/PC which has a much bigger storage?
My point is that people tend to make a "problem" much bigger than it actually is. Running out of storage on your phone? Then make some space by saving your stuff to your computer, simple as that.
You don't have to agree with me of course, that's just my opinion.
Finally a fair comparison. Two overrated devices being compared to each other.
Poll results won't matter, but i reckon the device with the more fanboys will win (ahem it's the Korean brand).
Tsabes, 02 Jul 2019I'd take the OP any day. The Galaxy's double punchole is stupid, wireless charging is overrate... moreI chose the op7pro over the sgs10+
But how could you say that people are lazy if 256gb is not enough. To some people more storage is important.
How else are people going to store lots of 4K 60fps phone captured videos, phone captured RAW/DNG photos, large collection of FLAC (lossless) music files, many offline 4K movie downloads, offline encyclopedia and other storage media and personal files?
To me, the better option is S10+ and it has something standard which is enough for me.
Anonymous, 03 Jul 2019Bmw and samsung are both unreliable overrated overpriced and boring!Same all of us samsung fan would say about one plus, am not a hater i believe one plus has become a great device over the years, it all comes down to preference so don't hate on the other one, samsung is unique in its own way and that's why is the number #1, I don't know for how long but its going to be there for a long long time and you know it.
Anonymous, 02 Jul 2019S10+ is 300$ more expensive but only has better cameras while op 7 pro has better display no n... more1. 1. OP7p DOES NOT have better display, OP7p has more practical display, in terms of the panel it self, and tech aspect of it, it cannot match S10 + not having noch does not make the display itself better it makes it more practical.
2. No, where i live OP7p is 750 euros, S10 plus is 650, same goes for most of the EU
3. No it is not, there is 1 (ONE) advantage of OP7p = speed, and NOTHING else.
The speakers blow OP7p out of the water
Build quality is better
All cameras and video is better
Better ergonomics OP7p is huge
Next time when you come with your bs argument, think again what you say.
Anonymous, 02 Jul 2019Even if they have the same prices oneplus 7 pro is still better choiceHahahahah you made me day with the joke, thanks.
Anonymous, 02 Jul 2019You need to read it one more timeNah. I just check these on Phonearena or read further on xda forums.
solopolo, 02 Jul 2019I can bet that the results from the battery tests are understood only by gsmarena employees. I... moreWell, this is true from one stand of point, I have newer get more than 5h of SoT with any device since smartphone era....
But on other side, GSMarena is using standard benchmarks, and they are using same benchmarks for all devices,. So, even though you can't see, read or understand what that actually means to your usage, you can compare that with their review of device that you use, and see is it better or whatever.
90Hz (but which drains the battery faster), no notch, faster wired charging and a little faster usage experience are the advantages of the OP7 Pro. But they stop there. S10+ comes with better screen at all the other aspects, better cameras, IP68 rated (so you can claim), wireless charging, SD slot, 3.5mm jack, better battery, size is more appropriate for more people, less weight, no worry for a motor camera fail, WiFi AX, Gorilla Glass 6, 4K video for front camera. OP7 Pro costs 759 euro with 8GB RAM and 256GB memory in Germany, S10+ 128GB memory Prism Black is 737 euro and 512GB memory Ceramic is 990 euro on Amazon Germany but will go even more down.
If One Plus 7 Pro is a Genesis G70 then Samsung S10 plus is a BMW 5 series. That much difference is there between these two.
Samsung has a better brand value and better engineering over Chinese luxury OnePlus. Reliability is also like that only.
Samsung may be super expensive to replace or repair the display over OnePlus
Walter C. Dornez, 02 Jul 2019Oh, this is going to be a FUN comment section, hahaLet's see what we got here, arguments about their:
Prices - Plenty, saw that coming
OS - A little rare, huh
Cameras - Also plenty, lookin' good
Overall "superiority" - eh
SDs and jacks - Damned Note10 ain't letting me feel at ease to comment this
The perf arguments are getting a little outta hand tho. It's like they think the Exynos and Snapdragon are night an- no, Heaven and Ea- nah, how about... *Cue random research* Planck length and Hercules-Corona Borealis Great Wall. Sounds like an odd phobia of things with a Greek-esque name (Exynos)
Are we really comparing a phone that as ip68 rating , samsung pay, samsung pass security , Samsung Dex , tones of side compatibles accessories ( Gear vr, smartwatch, 360 camera , Tv decicated app, washing machine control ,earbuds etc) , and durability ( i still use my s5 that i bought 6 years ago just changed the battery) while having an s10 , which chinese phone that last that long ? Give me one just one
If there was no punch hole, it would be an easy win for the S10+.
More complete package overall imo and you can find it at the same price as the 7 Pro at least in euro land.
It really comes down to if you want the full screen 90hz experience. I'd say if you like the punch hole go for the S10+.
