In nearby stores mi 9 and mi 9t and Samsung note 9 nearly cost the same
What should i go for ?
Anonymous, 29 Jun 2019lots of people don't use cases because it covers the design of the phone they chose, what's th... moreEmm, I pick devices for their features and price, the appearance should be "not ugly", but you hardly can find an ugly phone nowadays; so I don't really "pick the color", usually I just go with black. And I see no problem to cover it - I will mostly look at its display anyways, and I don't really care how it looks for others.
Walter C. Dornez, 29 Jun 2019People are different dude. They don't care about stuff like that, they just want their device ... moreThank you, Cap'n Obvious ;)
If they want their device to look good - then why don't they make it look good themselves?
Yeah, and I don't want the main market to screw us over again - by pushing these flashy backs that are essential parts of the smartphone and its price. Mi 9T here is alright example, unlike e.g. Honor View 20.
Shadocx, 29 Jun 2019Because if you use a case, it will hide the beautiful design of the back of your smartphone. ... more"Again, it might not matter to you." - but why does it matter [at all]? Smartphone is not a clothing, it's not a watch/ring/any accessory - its appearance is not included in the list of its main features. And I don't like smartphones that try to make it so, like Honor View 20 (which has no options without flashy back at all) - because it's unrational; if you want to prettify your smartphone - fine, put a case, a stickers, a vinyl skin (dbrand, etc.), an aerographic painting, whatever, but do it on your own and for your own money.
Anonymous, 28 Jun 2019Never put case on my phones. Current one had many accidents but the glass has never shatteredI put case on my phones mainly for better grip or to have a stand (and to put them on a table not touching screen or camera), little bit of protection is just a bonus.
Anonymous, 28 Jun 2019The main reason I'm considering this phone over the Mi 9 is because of how awesome it looks. I... moreBecause of looks? Not because of cost (especially for SD730 version), better UDFPR, bigger battery or even notch-less screen? That is really a facepalm - choosing a smartphone because of looks in the first place, not because of features.
BTW, "design" and "appearance" are not exactly the same thing.

Anonymous, 29 Jun 2019Yeah, great idea. Just use something that doesn't exist yet. It will exist after some time when the company releases the official kernel source code of the device .
You can also use a third part launcher with icon packs or use themes.
Hands down the best value on the market right now.
Well from a best flagship of the year we cant expect less than awesome, which we all desired, wished for and got .
Maybe its lack bunch of add-ons and features but who apart people living in rainforests needs IP protection???. Despite the fact no IP protection gives you water damage warranty and apart plain unrefined water it wont protects against other liquids especialy salt water.
Who would need a SD card slot if 256GB disk space is more than enough.
Who needs better camera if printed on A4 format or bigger even a best camera phone would looks ugly.
Who needs a wireless charger if the basic one i mean pluged cable in the phone is faster stable and just better.
Who would needs a jack if wireless earphones are great enough and by the way we can buy USB-C to jack converter everywhere.
Who would needs gorrila glass 6 if the GG5 is great enough by the way with screen protector like panzer glass even a GG 3 or lesser is great enough.
There are plenty of features this phone should have but it does not need just because any of feature adds to the final price and in case of this flagship price is all that matters.
If we put all flagship features from all brands and make a single phone it will cost maybe 2500 bucks but: 1. Not many would afford it or buy and 2. 90% of global population use their touch phones for a basic casual stuff like calling, messaging and interenet.
Only the 10% of people use more than 30% of phone features and only a tech geeks will use more than 90% of a phone features.
For the rest this lets say bitten flagship bitten from all features other flagships have is great enough and fullfil anyone needs.
In present world price is what matters most and my customers knows it especialy for a fact that average salary here in Slovakia is around 600 bucks or euros from which half goes to bills.

When K20 pro/ Mi 9T pro launches in India in 2 weeks, don't let one of your guys in India to do half baked review without any lab tests that no one wants. Take your time but please do the full review.
For those who say that the phone is priced closely to the Mi 9 that's because :
1- Mi 9 is slightly older so, it was more expensive but after some time it became cheaper and when the Mi 9T released, the difference in price wasn't that big between them but I think that the 9T will also get cheaper and the difference between the 9 and 9T in price will be bigger.
2- Mi 9T has pop-up selfie cam , larger battery , 3.5mm jack and more .. that the Mi 9 lacks + it's newer so, it's price is slightly less than Mi 9.
3- Xiaomi may launch the Mi 9T Pro soon so they want the Mi 9 to be cheaper imo.
taz-chaz, 29 Jun 2019i agree with u and u dont wanna slap a theme or anything cuz its not the same.but as a device ... moreYou just don't buy Xiaomi phone, slap a downloaded theme and call it a day. If you don't like MIUI then stay away from it.

Immobilizer, 29 Jun 2019Awesome display, Awesome Battery life, shame I can't stand MIUI Most Xiaomi phones ( if not all ) support bootloader unlocking and have many custom roms and kernels.
You can install a custom rom with stock android feel such as Pixel Experience which will give you pure , stock feel with some features.
MIUI isn't bad at all . It's great for everyone who prefers heavy skinned android or UI with much mure built-in features than the stock UI and it's still better and smoother than Huawei's EMUI ( it's not that smooth and sometimes laggy ) or Vivo's FuntouchOS ( iOS clone UI ).
